I'm a little concerned about the boxes with "Ads by Goooooogle" that shows in my
browser at Brickshelf and other sites. As they make ads with Swedish topics,
there seems to be some kind of intelligence behind them(?), targeting the ads in
a creepy way. I wonder if this is some kind of spyware that has infested my PC
or if everyone gets these ads.
Any information on this would be greatly appreciated!

| (...) At a guess, your browser submits some limited information about you that google's using. What OS you're running, what language you prefer, your IP address, what browser you're using. I also wouldn't be suprised if some browsers out there spat (...) (20 years ago, 10-Mar-05, to lugnet.general)

| (...) Hmmmm. Their AdSense pages only seem to mention page content in regards to ad targetting, but it's not very detailed. It's possible it may also have access to HTTP request information, which it may be able to use to target ads too. ROSCO (20 years ago, 10-Mar-05, to lugnet.general)
