John, Do a search on Lugnet for “clean” or “cleaning” - I think there may even be something in the Guide on it.

As far as getting them “shiny” again, that’s tougher, as the dulling of the finish is more due to minute scratches than it is to dirt. One trick I haven’t tried yet, but intend to, would be to dip Lego elements in Future floor polish. Scale modelers use Future as a glossy clear-coat and to give transparent plastic parts a new shine. I just don’t know how it holds up to handling, or how it affects the mating of the parts. You would be limited in the quantity you could do at a time, as Future takes a while to dry and the parts must be protected from dust, and elevated so they don’t stick to whatever they’re resting on.

If you’re building a model for display, you could airbrush Future on the whole thing once built, and just coat the visible surfaces.

Other than that, I think you’re left to Brasso or Novus plastic polish to re-shine your parts.

This is my first post and I hope this is not an oft asked question,as I could not find one.I know there are a lot of ways everyone can clean their bricks but to get them 'shiney' clean and not hurt them,is something I would rather just be safer than (...)
