How do you clean a bunch of lego?

This is my first post and I hope this is not an oft asked question,as I could
not find one.I know there are a lot of ways everyone can clean their bricks but
to get them 'shiney' clean and not hurt them,is something I would rather just be
safer than sorry.Thanks.

| John, Do a search on Lugnet for "clean" or "cleaning" - I think there may even be something in the Guide on it. As far as getting them "shiny" again, that's tougher, as the dulling of the finish is more due to minute scratches than it is to dirt. (...) (20 years ago, 22-Sep-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

| (...) When I used to buy old lots of Lego off of eBay, I would go through and hand wash each piece. I would fill a tub with lukewarm soapy water (a mild liquid dish soap work best). | a friend and I are running into the same problem. He had all his LEGO stored in his basement and with huracaine Ivan the basment filled with water to the floor joists. every peice of lego is caked with mud. it is pretty bad. so far he's soaking it (...)
