Should there be a set size for Brickshelf pics?

I want to bring this up because I find that some of pictures on Brickshelf tend to be very large. Now I am sure I am guilty of this as well. Because on my PC I have my resolution at 1024x768. But sometimes I run into pictures that are a greater (...) (22 years ago, 5-Jun-02, to lugnet.general)

Re: Should there be a set size for Brickshelf pics?

Greetings, Smaller photos might be a better option for another reason as well....server space. Likely the more frugal everyone is with the size (kb) of their images, the fewer addtional drives the admin will have to purchase, making it more cost (...) (22 years ago, 5-Jun-02, to lugnet.general)

Re: Should there be a set size for Brickshelf pics?

(...) Well, I mostly try to post around 800x600, depending on the aspect ratio of the picture (which may be clipped & otherwise played with). But occasionally I post 2 Mpixel (2000x1500 or thereabouts) jpgs straight from my camera, generally only (...) (22 years ago, 6-Jun-02, to lugnet.general)

I think this is the wrong place to ask about this. You should ask Kevin to post a survey ON BRICKSHELF, so that people can easily answer what resolution they use, and he can gather that info, and possibly add a suggestion as a footer to pages, (...) (22 years ago, 6-Jun-02, to lugnet.general)

Re: Should there be a set size for Brickshelf pics?

I've noticed the large pictures myself. A few years ago, when I bought my first digital cam, I posted some big pics on BrickShelf and got some notes saying "Nice photos but TOO BIG!" I immediately removed then and posted smaller ones. Since then, (...) (22 years ago, 6-Jun-02, to lugnet.general)

(...) I'm always at 1024x768. Any larger and it seems to me like those large print books for people with failing eyesight. I don't mind scrolling up and down at all because I've got the little scroll wheel on my mouse, so it is pretty effortless. (...) (22 years ago, 6-Jun-02, to lugnet.general)

I am sorry if I posted this in the wrong spot. But this is the General section so I didnt think there would be a problem with it. I could see if I was going for a realy scientific tally, but I just kinda wanted to get an idea on what would be a good (...) (22 years ago, 6-Jun-02, to lugnet.general)

(...) usually view Brickshelf when I'm on an 800x600 screen, and you gotta have room for the other parts of the page. (Which reminds me, something that's bugged me for years is the fact taht the "Next" button is more than 800 pixels from the left (...) (22 years ago, 6-Jun-02, to lugnet.general)

Re: Should there be a set size for Brickshelf pics?

(...) I am often using a small screen laptop with a terrible trackpad (instead of a mouse) and this next-off-the-edge drives me absolutely crazy!!! My workaround to this problem is, when entering a folder, click on the last image in the folder and (...) (22 years ago, 7-Jun-02, to lugnet.general)
