Re: Stealing Brickshelf MOC's —Joseph Williams
(...) Someone else seems to have had a problem with this whole situation too. The gallery in question is no where to be found and the accusational images the 2 VLC people posted ( rightly so imho )are erased as well. I agree that it was a (...) (22 years ago, 15-May-02, to lugnet.general)

Re: Stealing Brickshelf MOC's —Ross Crawford
(...) Unfortunately, by uploading they are claiming ownership, according to the disclaimer, unless they clearly state otherwise. "All Gallery content is property of the uploader, unless otherwise stated" I also keep many pictures from other peoples' (...) (22 years ago, 15-May-02, to lugnet.general)

Re: Stealing Brickshelf MOC's —Tim Tosino

If the person was really making a website for commentary on MOCs then he really doesn't need permission to use the pictures. However, it is considered polite to ask. Posting them up on Brickshelf is another matter. Hard to say it was a "fair use" (...) (22 years ago, 20-May-02, to lugnet.general)

Re: Stealing Brickshelf MOC's —Frank Filz
(...) A commentary site is certainly a legitimate thing, HOWEVER, copying an entire BrickShelf folder for use on a such a site is stretching fair use. Fair use MIGHT justify copying one picture to illustrate the article, with a link to the (...) (22 years ago, 20-May-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.publish)

Re: Stealing Brickshelf MOC's —Lindsay Frederick Braun
(...) Probably to ensure that links wouldn't go dead. The easiest way to ensure that is to have the images in your control--divided sourcing has a tendency to fray the tree very quickly. LFB (22 years ago, 20-May-02, to lugnet.general)
