  Brick Color

I have a question for all of you Lego Fans out there: Out of all the bricks Lego has ever made, what color do you think has the highest production count? I've got my theories about it...but I'd like to see if anyone else has a thought on this (...) (23 years ago, 15-Dec-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build)

(...) see (...) well, interesting question :) So I ran a script on all the inventories on peeron (note, this is only stuff we have inventoried, so only about 1000 sets out of more than 4500)... I agree. I would pick red bricks, with grey as second. I think red was the default color because, well, "real" bricks are red! :) (...) (23 years ago, 15-Dec-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build)

(...) Interesting results Dan, The Peeron inventories are biased towards the more recent sets, right? This may explain why Mike's red prediction wasn't accepted by your results. On the other hand, LEGO most likely produces many times the amount of (...) (23 years ago, 15-Dec-01, to lugnet.general)

This is a good start. Some suggestions for modifying the results: 1. Look at only a few common parts, especially bricks. I've acquired hundreds of 1x2 plates with clips from recent sets. While these are common, they are tiny. I'd rather know how (...) (23 years ago, 15-Dec-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build)

(...) nod, good points. Ways I might want to modify the results... * make it proportional to the number of people that own a set - i.e. by set popularity. * or, by 1/N, where N is the number of parts in a set * by year, recent sets count more * 1/P, (...)
