/snipped some good stuff

As a child, I loved every new specialized element I could get my hands
on.  The kid in the street with the most specialized elements was the
coolest, no doubt about it.  I see no reason why kids today shouldn't
feel the same about them.  Perhaps sets with lots of single use
specialized elements sell really well?  Perhaps that is why we see
them around all the time?

Agree, I still remember the feeling when the new minifig was introduced, and
not to forget the Technic sets.
(almost forgot the walkie-talkie, spacewings, new trans-colors and the
wonderful new steep slopes in the "fireboat" or the yellow castle.)

I loved the new pieces then, today I don´t..

Maybe it´s me not having full control over every single element that makes
me also agree with The Hop-Frog man...
