Last night I sent an email to Lego S@H about an item [1] listed in their
spring catalogue. In this email I pointed out that I lived in Australia, but
was wanting to order this item, to be sent to an address in the USA, but
couldn't find it on their website. Here is their reply (remember that I live
in Australia where S@H is not available, and it no-where said that this item
was not available online):
"

Now, I don't think there's much use really in having listed the first two
options, as I don't REALLY want the bother of having to talk to someone that
far around the world...especially with the phonecall cost, but you'd think
they would have put some disclaimer on the page in the catalogue saying that
not all items available online, instead of having just below the item "Shop
Online: www.lego.com". In fact, on the order form page, it states "use the
express shopping feature to order catalog items quickly" yet when I use it,
I get a page with "The parameter is incorrect. "...Nice and friendly, just
not helpful....or in line with the catalog.
[1] The item was the directors keyring as shown on page 21...I believe 3917
is the same.

| (...) Note the set name. I think there might be some cranky little 'murcans come July if they get special release 6094s instead of 6067s. (...) Obviously a low-level filter auto-reply -- I wonder what you have to write to get an answer from a human? (...) (23 years ago, 22-Jun-01, to lugnet.loc.au)
