  Some Lego buying stats

I was curious just a bit ago about how much I spend on Lego per year, and how quickly I acquired Lego-- So using semi-rough guesses on my collection based on year, I found: Childhood: 1,425 pieces per year =~ $150 per year Dark Ages: 0 pieces per (...) (23 years ago, 5-Jun-01, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Some Lego buying stats

(...) I don't have a piece breakdown (yet), but I do have a dollar breakdown... 1983 - $85 1984 - $275 1985 - $200 1986 - $175 1987 - $200 1988 - $200 1989 - $125 1990 - $35 1991 - $125 1992 - $150 1993 - $425 1994 - $150 1995 - $150 1996 - $350 (...) (23 years ago, 5-Jun-01, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Some Lego buying stats

(...) I need to do a breakdown at some point, but it scares me. I've got somewhere in the 300-500k pieces rance, acquired over 2.5 years so far... Frank (23 years ago, 5-Jun-01, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Some Lego buying stats

(...) Ditto on the scary part - I know I have well over 500K pieces (99% bought in the last 3 years), which is why I am Ebaying off a ton of sets/parts over the next few months, and Brickbaying off a few 10K of new bricks - to make ROOM so that I (...) (23 years ago, 5-Jun-01, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Some Lego buying stats

(...) I don't have a breakdown quite that specific ... but I have seen my expenditure ramp sharply up coinciding with the transition from school to full-time job, what with the disposable income that entails. A couple of snapshots: April 1999 (...) (23 years ago, 6-Jun-01, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Some Lego buying stats

Hi guys, Just like to know what is the conditions of living in US.   Re: Some Lego buying stats

(...) The mechanical engineer in automotive with 3-4 years experience would earn about 45,000 to 65,000 I would say. New grad engineers start in the 45,000 range. Engineers with 5-8 years experience will be in the 55,000 to 75,000 range. Above 8 (...) (23 years ago, 9-Jun-01, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

(...) Here is what a teacher in the Fairfield Suisun Unified School District in Northern California can currently expect to make (I choose this example because they are currently on strike and their salaries are a public issue). A starting teacher (...) (23 years ago, 11-Jun-01, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: Some Lego buying stats

(...) Wow!.. A really big wow!.. When considering our income levels (me and my wife can only make around 15000 USD/year, both being engineers) it looks amazing. What I'm wondering is what kind of a living you could buy with 40-50000 USD/year. For (...) (23 years ago, 12-Jun-01, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: Some Lego buying stats

(...) Well, I guess that I will add to this. I live in a different part of the country than Maggie, but I imagine that there is a general multiplier somewhere that you could use to adjust for different regions in the US. Mortgage (includes insurance (...) (23 years ago, 12-Jun-01, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: Some Lego buying stats

(...) I'll jump in here. I can actually give you info for two different scenarios, since I just went through a location and employment change semi-recently (2 years ago).   Re: Some Lego buying stats

(...) My soon-to-be wife (6 weeks!) is currently looking for employment in a school in the Central Kentucky area, so I have some numbers from that for a comparison. (...)   Re: Some Lego buying stats

(...) Selcuk: An interesting topic. Housing costs in the US varies widely based on geography as well as supply and demand. I live in Cincinnati OH, where house prices are pretty reasonable. Hi again, Selcuk (sorry I don't know how to type the proper "c"!), All of the answers to your question so far have been pretty representative of the middle class (and we are probably more highly educated on Lugnet than average), but I don't (...) Thank you very much for the inputs Maggie..:-) (...) Actually, although we (me and my wife) earn quite above the average in Turkish terms, (minimum legal wage is 107 million TL here, and 1 USD=1.25 million TL), I think it does not buy us a decent (...)
