Blashemy? - Gluing LEGO Bricks? —Mike Walsh
I know it is a bit taboo but I need to glue some LEGO bricks together for some Christmas ornaments I am giving to my family. Can anyone suggest a suitable glue? Thanks, Mike - mike_walsh@mindspring.com (24 years ago, 16-Nov-00, to lugnet.general)

Mike, Eric used some (7 pounds) of glue for his desk. (URL) found this on his page.. "About 7 pounds of glue were used. Brand: Oatey, All-Purpose (PVC, CPVC, ABS) Glue. " Jim (...) (24 years ago, 16-Nov-00, to lugnet.general)

(...) I have used jet glue (available at most hobby stores) with some success, though, as a solvent, the glue can potentially foul the bricks if you're not careful. Other choices include Ambroid Proweld and Tenax 7R, both of which are also solvents (...) (24 years ago, 16-Nov-00, to lugnet.general)

(...) <snip> (...) I'm curious as to where the Ambroid Proweld and or Tenax 7R might be obtained. In the recent past, I've used basically what Eric used, ABS/PVC MEK, which is not much of a solvent (plastic melter, plastic combiner), but more of a (...)        (...) Up until about a year ago I worked at a hobby store in State College, PA that sold both of these, as well as a host of cyanoacrylate solvents. I've seen Ambroid at a few other outlets, but I haven't really looked for Tenax 7R. If you're (...) (24 years ago, 16-Nov-00, to lugnet.general)

(...) Thanks for the kind words, but I should underscore that I have only limited experience in the gluing of LEGO.        (...) I do understand, and I will be cautious. I have a host of non-set/extra Lego with which to conduct unnatural experiments on. I've been doing mod's for year, mostly just removing things that I don't like, but haven't found the right "glue" to (...) (24 years ago, 17-Nov-00, to lugnet.general)
