  Re: Wal-Mart Clearance is underway! {FOTW}

(...) month, Last year it was down at 20% and this years it seam to be 15% :-(. I also saw last summer 25% off at TRU on all Lego but since then only occasionaly some old stuff they want to get rid off at about half price. Martin (26 years ago, 8-Feb-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

(...) That's cause they can. If sets haven't sold after they're discontinued for 4 or 5 years is plenty of time to think about discounts, and by then they're snapped up to resell to Americans... viz. the recent rash of 8880's from my country, the (...)   Re: Wal-Mart Clearance is underway! {FOTW}

(...) Not just you. One thing I do every time is try to find a damaged box, even if it's just a tear in the box or a dent or something, then ask the department manager if there's a discount on damaged boxes. I've only ever been told "no" once. (...) (26 years ago, 9-Feb-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

(...) You're lucky. I've gotten a damaged box (pretty severely, too), with instructions missing, of a set that should have been put on special to sell out a few years ago when it weas discontinued, for 100 instead of 115. That's the best I've done. (...) (26 years ago, 9-Feb-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

(...) The buckets with 1x bricks were here in Vancouver before Xmas: I got one just after Xmas for 50% off because it had been opened (was probably a return) but I haven't seen one since. I'm hoping that when they get another Lego shipment with the (...) (26 years ago, 10-Feb-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

(...) In Montreal aera is the same thing NO MORE bucket. I don't know if it's because TLG made less bucket last years (limited edition) or poeple bought more because it was supposed to be limited edition (I bought quite a few myself). Just hope that (...) (...) I haven't found any 70% sales this year. :(((( I've been waiting for Fright Forces and Mountain Rescues to drop below $3 at most of the Wal-Marts in town, but they seem stuck there. (26 years ago, 12-Feb-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)
