Spend some time at the Shell website -- it's a very weird experience.
They don't even pretend to present an image of a single operating
corporation (like TLG does). Apparently, there are *hundreds* of Shell
companies. Many of them are shell companies--inactive corporations
which are waiting around, just in case they become useful someday.

| (...) The Lego Group (a.k.a. "TLG") is a multinational conglomerate (if that's the right term) and is the "parent" company of approximately 40-50 companies. Companies in the Lego Group have names like LEGO Systems Inc., LEGOLAND California Inc., (...) (26 years ago, 31-Jan-99, to lugnet.general)
