What I always do when switching arms is to first remove the hands.
Otherwise, the pressure you exert may cause the arm to crack where the rod
of the hand is inserted into the arm. I then position the arm so it's
pointing either straight out in front or in back of the torso. Gentle,
slowly-increasing pressure has never resulted in a cracked torso for me.
However, a few used mini-figs that I've bought have shown up that way.
Removing the arm, opening the crack, and applying Super Glue inside the
crack and then applying a small clamp has always fixed that problem. Always
worth the trouble if it means I can add another Classic Knight to my army
(even if he has a little "battle damage", my King needs experienced knights
to guard his castle!).

| I changed arms on a bunch of newer style torsos (plain green, plain red and Star Wars) over the weekend. Removing the arms caused the torso to crack from the arm hole down to the waist. Anyone else experiencing this? Are they using thinner abs? (24 years ago, 17-Jul-00, to lugnet.general)
