I've seen this occasionally, but usually on *older* torsos, not brand-new
ones.  So it's not a brand-new problem.

Maybe they've recently cut a new torso mold, and it has thinner sides than
the old mold?  Would TLC have more than one torso die-mold?

(...) from (...) Actually, there are three torso molds- Version one was from the introduction of the minifig to about 1979. It has no grooves on the inside of the torso. I don't have any of these, but I've heard about them. Version two lasted from (...) (24 years ago, 17-Jul-00, to lugnet.general)
