Re: Harry Potter Lego Line —Scott P. Costello
I really like the direction that Lego is going with producing licenced material, ie. Star Wars, Disney, and now Harry Potter. I think it will introduce a whole new crowd into the world of Lego. However I don't think that anyone has mentioned the (...) (24 years ago, 11-Jul-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: Harry Potter Lego Line —Mark Herzberg
(...) I don't. Licensing is not what LEGO is about. (24 years ago, 11-Jul-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: Harry Potter Lego Line —Eric Joslin
(...) Well. Licensing is not what Lego *was* about. I think it's a good thing, though, mostly because Lego's recent self-designed sets have... been somewhat lacking, in my mind. The Star Wars sets (not just the UCS, but the System ones as well) have (...) (24 years ago, 11-Jul-00, to lugnet.general)

(...) line. I agree. Licensing is not inherently a bad thing. It could lead to a general loss of creativity but the Star Wars line doesn't suffer from that at all. I think what's important is that they choose licenses not for their popularity but (...) (24 years ago, 11-Jul-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: Harry Potter Lego Line —Shiri Dori
XP .castle (...) True. I'm not completely happy about the trend of licensing, but the SW sets were better than the rest of the system sets (like Eric mentioned) and brought a lot of great new pieces, many of them multiple uses. (...) Sorry, gotta (...) (24 years ago, 11-Jul-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.castle)

Re: Harry Potter Lego Line —Chris Maddison
(...) Aye, there's pieces in the SW line that I'd been wishing for ever since I can remember, both new pieces and old pieces in new colors. And the minifigs are the best I've seen yet; especially the face design. I hope that they continue this (...) (24 years ago, 11-Jul-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.castle)

Re: Harry Potter Lego Line —Jonathan Lill
(...) Yeah, looks like I am going to have to read the books too, or at least the first one, if only so I'll know what to expect. Where are you going on vacation that you wont be reading lugnet (24 years ago, 12-Jul-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.castle)

Re: Harry Potter Lego Line —Mike Zinkowsky
(...) Ahhh...A return to the golden age of castle when the sets were all modular, and you connect them all to make a huge structure (sniff) I miss that... :) (...)           Comics + Lego (was Harry Potter Lego Line) —Jamie Hickey
Well, I must admit that I was baffled when I heard that TLG picked up the Harry Potter lisence. I looked it up on here a was enlighted to the story, I might go pick up the first book now, it sounds interesting! Wizards, castles, ect... However, my (...)          Re: Harry Potter Lego Line —A. Mark Wilburn
(...) Alright, but what about Scott's point? Isn't it better to introduce lego to as many people as possible? I have a friend who thought lego was too childish and never bought any, even as a child. Until it conformed with his own intersts (big Star (...) (24 years ago, 11-Jul-00, to lugnet.general)
