    gender changers? —Robert M. Dye
Hey to all. I just bought my first throwbots sets. I don't know if I will buy more, or not. Most likely not, unless I find that some of the pieces are especially useful. But... One thing I noticed is that some of the pieces allow connection of studs (...) (26 years ago, 4-Jan-99, to lugnet.general)

(...) I'm glad that Lego is finally (appearing) to do this. I don't know of them anywhere else in their products....I know there is a clone (forget the name) a friend had where it offered very slim 2x2's with studs on both sides, and also the same (...)          Re: gender changers? —Larry Pieniazek
The subject is under discussion in lugnet.build, which I would posit as a better group. The 1x1 with side stud is capable of changing direction in just slightly larger than 1x2 brick space. (it technically takes two of them plus a 1x1 plate) (...) (26 years ago, 12-Jan-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build)

Tyco also made some 2x2 hinges that are 1 brick high (I think, don't have them here with me). They can (...) (26 years ago, 15-Jan-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build)

(...) You mean Tyco and Lego are compatible? *drool* why can't we get that here? anyway: Lego also makes.. or ahs made, at least, 2*2/1*4 hinges of 1 brick high. 375 comes with 8 yellow ones, and some other castle sets come wih grey ones... I've (...) (26 years ago, 17-Jan-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build)

(...) Well, there is the 1x1 brick with a stud on each of its four sides. There were a few of these in RoboForce, I think the RoboMaster. Steve (26 years ago, 12-Jan-99, to lugnet.general)

I know I bought a couple of those on clearance this past year, but mostly just for the parts...they were rediculously cheap, and I wanted the corner (...)    (...) Really? Cool. Rob, could you try to describe the piece a little? And which set(s) they come in? So far, I have not seen any Throwbots, and this news has piqued my curiousity. This could be really useful. -- Terry K -- (26 years ago, 13-Jan-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: gender changers? —Robert M. Dye
(...) Now that I've spent the last couple days exploring plane rotation, I realize that these pieces are not really any different for plane changing that 1x8 Technic bricks, where you could insert 1x(x-1) bricks on each side, with studs facing each (...)    (...) Cool! Thanks Grahame. Those pieces look sooooo interesting. Must get some, when the dang things show up. BTW, the element links seem to be mixed up. -- Terry K -- (26 years ago, 14-Jan-99, to lugnet.general)
