600 dpi scans of 2000 Catalog Insets

I posted this to lugnet.starwars, but I just realized it wasn't very obvious, so I'm posting it again. Anyway, here it is: Okay, I have scanned in the insets for the Millenium Falcon, B-Wing, and A-Wing. You can see them here: < (URL) > They show (...) Thanks, Jeff! You've managed to lower my opinion of the MF even further! Notice that the bottom hull appears to use the smaller inverse hull pieces. So the upper hull won't even match the shape of the lower. Blech! And it looks like the back is just (...) (25 years ago, 29-Nov-99, to lugnet.starwars)

By the way--thanks a bunch for the scans! It's not your fault what the scans show :-) -John Van (25 years ago, 29-Nov-99, to lugnet.starwars)

(...) John, You mentioned in your last post about how the back looks the same as the front and how nothing special was done about the engine. I might be wrong, but I think that the close-ups that Jeff scanned show the side of the Falcon. You can (...) (25 years ago, 30-Nov-99, to lugnet.starwars)

(...) Not only that, but it's the side, angled from the front. It needs to be the side opposite from the cockpit - otherwise, that escape pod would be launching from where the loading ramp is. The front of the ship (with the mandibles) is (...) (25 years ago, 30-Nov-99, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: 600 dpi scans of 2000 Catalog Insets

(...) Not only is this a horrible looking and really cheapskate way to add "action" to the model, but it's something we've never seen in any of the films. It must be something from one of the novels, otherwise I'd wonder why Lucas would even (...) (25 years ago, 30-Nov-99, to lugnet.starwars)

(...) Hmm... If the A-wing cockpit can really hinge open like that i'll buy like a thousand of them!!!! x) Dead Mr. Smiley (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.starwars)

(...) It can. If you already have one of those canopies (same one as in the Naboo fighter) you'll recall it has stud-holes on the front. Stick it on top of a tilt-bearing hinge (that's what I've heard them called anyway), and voila. Hmm... got any (...) (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: 600 dpi scans of 2000 Catalog Insets

(...) I've voiced my negative opinions of the Lego MF here before, but lately (until today) I'd been having a change of heart. I'd made a real effort to like the "Falcon." It didn't even really have to be the Falcon - I'm sure the Correlians (...) (25 years ago, 2-Dec-99, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: 600 dpi scans of 2000 Catalog Insets

Well, I thumbnailed these three, along with my Povray A-Wing, and added two more images (one is a Castle image, though). The new Star Wars image is of Luke looking out of the "Smuggler's Chamber" on the Millenium Falcon. < (URL) > Jeff (...) (25 years ago, 16-Dec-99, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: 600 dpi scans of 2000 Catalog Insets

(...) Perhaps, but Han has his vest on in that set. Besides, I don't think the set will come with brown bricks, and the minifig's hair is the same color as part of the wall, leading me to believe the color is beige. It is too light for brown. (...) (25 years ago, 16-Dec-99, to lugnet.starwars)

(...) You are absolutley correct. I looked at the catalogue again and what I thought was Hans collar is the lines on Lukes tunic. Chris (25 years ago, 16-Dec-99, to lugnet.starwars)
