Re: Jake Chat II - Transcript

(...) I read it as regular yellow, not the light yellow. Light yellow could have been one of the pastel colors that was modified. I'll check on this. (...) OK, to clarify: What I'm saying is not that our quality control has gone out the window. The (...) (22 years ago, 19-Oct-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego, FTX)

Re: Jake Chat II - Transcript

(...) On the flip side, I was very excited to see the 'outreach' that these types of sessions offer--how many companies do you know that allow a 'one-on-one' with a representative, free of charge? Especially one that we have a personal vested (...) (22 years ago, 19-Oct-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: Jake Chat II - Transcript

(...) Another "unofficial" response: I think we can all make the general inference that the sets were at once ordered and structured. Lego itself is too disorganized, it doesn't know its right hand from its left, therefore, you have a disorganized (...) (22 years ago, 19-Oct-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: Jake Chat II - Transcript

(...) This is not an "official" response, but I think that Jake was trying to say that the Yellow and Purple and some other non new colors had some quality control issues. I would also like to point out that these issues could be pointed to using (...) (22 years ago, 19-Oct-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego, FTX)

(...) I don't know why I bother to read these sessions. I am usually left feeling worse about TLC than I would have had I not bothered. One exchange, in particular bugged me this time: [architect] ok, next to Jojo then [Jojo] Who is in charge for (...) (22 years ago, 19-Oct-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: New (Old) Town Plan sets discovered.

(...) ...SNIP... Hi Gary, very nice new infos :-) But I was a little confused on the picture of the town plan board: (...) By comparing it with the 60th town plan board in the early 60th catalogues (set no. 200) it seems to have a different (...) (22 years ago, 19-Oct-04, to lugnet.general)

New (Old) Town Plan sets discovered.

Eric Strand, who is helping me with the Lego CD (he's becoming a Samsonite expert) recently discovered some heretofore unknown Town Plan sets from the 1960's. The king of all 1960's sets was the Town Plan set with Town Plan board. In the USA/Canada (...) (22 years ago, 19-Oct-04, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Scale

(...) Well as the dimensions of a minifig are nowhere near proportional to a human, it's difficult to get an exact scale. I've seen scales ranging from 1:40 to 1:60 look ok with them, I think most people tend to scale in the low 40s if they're (...) (22 years ago, 19-Oct-04, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Scale

(...) Minifigs have an exaggerated scale compared to the avergage human. However, the generally accepted 'standard' for minifig scale is usually stated as 1 stud= 1 foot, or 1:38.1. Personally, I think guaging a scale of the figure is a mistake in (...) (22 years ago, 19-Oct-04, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Scale

(...) For what it's worth, here's how I arrive at a scale for minifig buildings, vehicles etc. To make things simple I assume the average minifig would be 6 feet tall (1) if brought to life. i.e. that the minifig _represents_ a being that is around (...)   Re: Scale

(...) Gaz, this won't be exact, but it might help. The Lego scale used for the classic era (1957-72) had Lego cars and trucks that were 1:87 scale. The classic Lego door was 3 bricks tall, and the modern Lego door is 5 or 6 brick tall. That would (...) (22 years ago, 18-Oct-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: Jake Chat II - Transcript

(...) This baffles me. Hasn't the color-consistency of LEGO been praised as one of the factors setting it above its competitor clone brands? And now we have more or less official confirmation that color-variance is expected and (presumably) (...) (22 years ago, 18-Oct-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego, FTX)

Re: Jake Chat II - Transcript

(...) I'm curious about this exchange from Jake's chat: Daimyo Jake, you have stated on Lugnet that the color changes would be limited to grays. Daimyo But what about the new yellow color change? sink21 no, not really... what I said was tha the (...) (22 years ago, 18-Oct-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego, FTX)

  Scale

Does anyone know the scale of LEGO figures, both Minifig and Technic, compared to that of real life? Where they originally designed to scale or was it a case of hmmm that size will do? Many thanks. Gaz. (22 years ago, 18-Oct-04, to lugnet.general)
