Re: LEGO, kids, and how it has come to this

(...) I personally doubt my experience would have been as good had I not had the "trial and error" phases early. I think this engenders persistance, which is IMO a Good Thing.   Re: LEGO, kids, and how it has come to this

(...) This is something that isn't just their fault... I've been a long time LEGO collector, having built for over 20 years, starting at 2.5 years old. But since around 1998 I've had hard times with some instructions, since colors are no longer (...) (22 years ago, 10-May-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: Request for Feedback - focused thread

(...) These are what I think are the most important things to keep in the original colours; 1 x n bricks, all plates, all round bricks, tiles, wedge bricks and slopes are a must in real grey, dark grey, and brown. In brown ones: cowl, hood (from (...) (22 years ago, 10-May-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: LEGO, kids, and how it has come to this

A partial explanation. When we visited LEGOLAND in Billund for the first time (1992), the LEGO Technic University was a popular attraction. Kids came in with their parents, selected a Technic model, and as a family assembled it and ran it on a test (...) (22 years ago, 10-May-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: 4755 - Knight Bus Colours

I'll have to open the other set and see if I can get pics that show it decently. It's obvious IRL, but I have no idea how the camera will capture it.   Re: Jake did good?

(...) Oh, man, is that scary! I used to think is was bad enough that a 2 foot stack of Duplo misaligned with a similar height stack of LEGO by 1/16 inch, but THIS IS HORRIBLE! I hold out the hope that this was a manufacturing glitch (I could imagine (...) (22 years ago, 10-May-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: Jake did good - Other Quality Issues

(...) I've had this problem and it gets worse the more weight you put on the wheelsets (it's awful with 8mm:1ft scale trains as the trains are twice the weight of 6-wide ones). I've had to modify quite a few wheelsets as a workaround. I too am (...) (22 years ago, 10-May-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: Reasons for the color change
