  Re: Dear LEGO...

(...) Well, if you're going to put it anywhere, you'd put it in the nation's REAL capital, Toronto. You know, the one that leads in economy, population, culture etc. :) It only makes sense that you'd go for Toronto: If you had to pick a place with (...)   Re: The AFOL mind

(...) I have had some experiences with non-AFOL's who just "don't get" the LEGO hobby. Of course, no one can be interested in every hobby there is, but usually people can understand an interest in someone else's hobby. A person who doesn't like (...)   Re: whats up with the rollout of the Lego Stores?

(...) Potential for growth? (But that doesn't explain the other markets that *are* getting them, of course). Cheers Richie Dulin (22 years ago, 5-Apr-04, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.loc.ca, lugnet.general)

whats up with the rollout of the Lego Stores?

Why is it that (acording to an official page at lego.com), Russia (of all places) is getting a Lego Store (in moscow) but countries with probobly a much greater market (e.g. Australia or Canada) arent? (22 years ago, 5-Apr-04, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.loc.ca, lugnet.general)

Old time lurker, first time poster.

Hello everyone! My name is Matthew, but my friends call me Matt, or Sklar (Sklar being my last name), you may call me whichever you prefer. I've been a lurker here for around a year and a half, and an active member of (URL) for almost a year. I (...) (22 years ago, 5-Apr-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Dear LEGO...

I think there was a published list a ways back, I just couldn't find it. I know that Chicago-area got 2 stores, Boston got another one, Southern California (LA-area) got another store, NY City Metropolitan got 2 (1 in NJ - Paramus Park) and 1 Nyark) (...)   Re: Dear LEGO...

(...) Well, it's not really a "list" per se, but I was referring to this page of new store openings on the LEGO site, which lists cities by country: (URL) Strutt (22 years ago, 4-Apr-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.ca, lugnet.loc.ca.on.ott, lugnet.org.ca.parlugment)

Re: Hoping for advice... Best way to get parts? Other "Builder AFOLs?"

(...) This is a problem that will always come up. I've made instructions for some of my models and posted them on my site. Having been playing with LEGO since age 2 I've by now collected quite a bit of parts, some old and rare. When making MOC's I (...) (22 years ago, 4-Apr-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.inst)

Will TLC ever make new parts that AFOLs suggest?

I'm sure this has been asked before, but will the Lego Company ever make new types of parts that AFOLs like us have suggested? I know they're not allowed to just take ideas and use them without a legal agreement, but is there a legal framework for (...) (22 years ago, 4-Apr-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: Hoping for advice... Best way to get parts? Other "Builder AFOLs?"

(...) For every builder AFOL like yourself there would have to be a designer AFOL! I'm a designer and builder. I buy sets for the parts that are in them, assessing yield in terms of whether some parts are required in the near future and whether all (...)   Re: Hoping for advice... Best way to get parts? Other "Builder AFOLs?"

I like to build from instructions, too. Either instructions of released sets, ideabooks published by Lego or 'third party' instructions. If I don't have specific parts in particular color, I try to build the model using a different colorscheme. (I (...) (22 years ago, 4-Apr-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.inst)

(...) G'day Tim, To which "big list" are you referring? Can you post a link? Thanx, KDJ ___...___ LUGNETer #203, Ontario, Canada (22 years ago, 4-Apr-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.ca, lugnet.loc.ca.on.ott, lugnet.org.ca.parlugment)

  Re: The AFOL mind

(...) This is an interesting topic--I've also been talking about the hobby with a lot of non-AFOLs over the last few months. And the short answer is, yeah, it's nerdy, much as any hobby that is predominantly male is considered nerdy. But that's the (...) (22 years ago, 4-Apr-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Hoping for advice... Best way to get parts? Other "Builder AFOLs?"

(...) I see what you mean. When I looked through Jake’s book I was disappointed in what it didn’t contain as well as the really expensive parts that were found in some of the models. Granted the models look awesome but I would honestly explore other (...) (22 years ago, 4-Apr-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.inst)

Hoping for advice... Best way to get parts? Other "Builder AFOLs?"

I'd love to hear people's advice on getting the specific parts you need to build a specific MOC. I'd also like to know if anyone else is a "Builder AFOL" like me? Getting Parts: I know Bricklink is the short answer but I feel like I just don't get (...) (22 years ago, 4-Apr-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.inst)

Question about set 4667 for anyone who owns one

Other than the stand for the roadsign, does the set include any parts in the new colors? I would love to get one for the canopy, buckets and such and if the roadsign stand is the only part in the new colors, its even better (since I dont like the (...)   Re: An Introduction

  Re: An Introduction
