Re: Nicely now. What do you think of the new colors?

(...) They're fine. I look forward to getting hold of some (because they don't seem to be available at retail in Australia yet). I have enough 'old' grey to be going on with, and I'll use the new colours as highlights.... until I get enough of the (...) (22 years ago, 20-Jan-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general, FTX)

  Variant: 3058 Plate 6 x 16 with Motor Cutout

Hello, I found another variant among my parts: 3058 Plate 6 x 16 with Motor Cutout (URL) The right one has a narrow gap for a plug to the motor, while the left one has a gap in the size of a 1x2 brick. As I have the wide-gap-version one also in (...) (22 years ago, 19-Jan-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Signing off...till March

(...) I knew you were going away for a bit, but 2 months??? You better take some LEGO with you, man! (I'm assuming you'll have access to some tools so you can do that nefarious modding thing you do) Or maybe arrange for care packages? Presumably (...)   Re: Have *YOU* contacted LEGO customer service re: the gray color change?

(...) To be honest with you, that's not the most effective tactic. In the era of high-speed reprographics and internet petitions, identical letters (and sometimes any machine-produced document) are given a lower priority in terms of their importance (...)   Re: Have *YOU* contacted LEGO customer service re: the gray color change?

(...) You are quite correct and I admire the level-headedness of your thought. If by 'futile' you mean 'no effect whatsoever' then we are much in accord. The color change discussion took on a shrill, panicky note from the beginning and has left me (...) (22 years ago, 19-Jan-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Signing off...till March

I'm leaving for the Bahamas Wednesday to work on an electrical project. Not all fun and games like you're thinking. Imagine an isolated town surrounded by water and NO LEGO!!! I'll be back sometime in March. All work and no Lego will make Rob a dull (...) (22 years ago, 19-Jan-04, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general)

Re: Nicely now. What do you think of the new colors?

Jake, thank you so much for soliciting feedback. There are a number of aspects to this topic for me, so I will try to be a succinct as possible: 1. Adding new colors is *always* a good thing. The reason is simple in that it spurs new creative (...) (22 years ago, 19-Jan-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general)

Re: Have *YOU* contacted LEGO customer service re: the gray color change?

(...) Yes, I did. And got no really helpful answer, and no answer to my follow-up-question at all. Nice to see though that the "news" of the colour change has reached customer "service" (propably more through the customers mouth than through (...) (22 years ago, 19-Jan-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: Nicely now. What do you think of the new colors?

Jake, Thank-you for asking. I am very much in favor of TLG bringing back the old colors. The cornerstone of the Lego System is compatibility. The idea that set elements can be combined. Colors are every bit as much a part of the Lego System as stud (...) (22 years ago, 18-Jan-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Nicely now. What do you think of the new colors?

I bought all four of the new SW mini sets just so that I could comment intelligently on this topic. I couldn't afford the sets with the new brown, so I will restrict my comments only to the greys. I tried with the other colours. In every case they (...) (22 years ago, 18-Jan-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Have *YOU* contacted LEGO customer service re: the gray color change?

Re: Nicely now. What do you think of the new colors?

First off, thanks for putting this out there, Jake. Now, to answer your question: Personally, I LIKE the new colors. I have amassed a lot of "old" light gray and I build a lot of spaceships in that color. I like to use old, worn and faded light gray (...)   Re: X-Pods on sale in the UK
