Re: New element (Was: Re: New x-pod sets)

(...) Eh, just back it up to a 1x1 or 1x2 technic brick with the peghole in the right place, and it's all good. But I agree that it would have been nicer to see a the megablok part rendered in "the good stuff" instead. (...) I do agree--still have (...) (22 years ago, 18-Jan-04, to lugnet.general)

LEGO on Yahoo News Space Section

Most of us know about TLC and NASA's partnership on the Mission to Mars Project but one cool item in the article is: "Each of the real landers sports a DVD, containing the names of 4 million people, that bears a Lego figurine. And three Lego bricks (...) (22 years ago, 18-Jan-04, to lugnet.mediawatch, lugnet.general, FTX)

(...) (snipped for brevity) Nope. Not gonna. Don't care. The old greys are muddy and weird. There, I said it. Now let the "A"F(reaks!)oL self-appointed sergeants-at-arms have at me for speaking heresy. If I never read another highlighted post about (...) (22 years ago, 18-Jan-04, to lugnet.general, FTX) !

Re: Chat with Jake - Transcript

(...) Thank you Adrian. I agree that the questions and answers were great. Everyone should read up to find out information on everything from the difference at Shop at home from "Sold Out" and "Not Available" to discussion of the "Jakefig" :) Ben (22 years ago, 18-Jan-04, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.general, FTX)

  Lego Rover news

Of course, in a masterpiece of bad timing, the Rover model was cleared off of Target shelves just before the landing - I suppose I can't complain since I got one for $22. And my wife kept telling me that she could get it at a discount at work (JPL), (...) (22 years ago, 18-Jan-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: Nicely now. What do you think of the new colors?

Surely one of the main values of a construction toy is that more bricks can be added over time to create new models. This is why I cannot understand why the LEGO company is removing the colour compatibility of new sets with old. The changes are (...) (22 years ago, 18-Jan-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general)

  Mold variant: plate 4 x 8

I found a 4x8 plate with a little mold variant: (URL) All studs are normal. I have found a similar thing with the 2x8 plates before, but below more studs. (URL) (The plate in the middle) Niels (22 years ago, 18-Jan-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Have *YOU* contacted LEGO customer service re: the gray color change?

Hello all, Have *YOU* contacted LEGO customer service regarding the gray color change? Jake McKee, in post after post on the recent gray and brown color changes, has suggested contacting LEGO customer service by phone, letter, or email. I don't (...)   Re: New x-pod sets

(...) They are very cool and look like great little sets. I was glad to see that the pods appear to be shipped in blister packs: (URL) makes them very easy to display and sell in stores. Real stores!   Re: New element (Was: Re: New x-pod sets)

(...) You must have read my mind. It was, in fact, a 1x1 with a stud on one side that I was really thinking of. I will love to have and will use the piece Huw noted above, but it would also be nice to have one that didn't need any clearance on the (...) (22 years ago, 18-Jan-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: New element (Was: Re: New x-pod sets)

(...) Hey Allan, My understanding is that the 1x1 brick with stud on only one side is not produced by TLC because the patent (!) is still owned by Ritvik and used in MegaBloks. That's why they could only do the 1x4 like that, at least until the part (...) (22 years ago, 18-Jan-04, to lugnet.general)

I may possibly have been passed Argos today and may possibly have accidently brought the sets. They Rock !! A lot of thought obviously has gone into the part selection, the muli functions of the pods are great. Each one has multiple model (...) (22 years ago, 18-Jan-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: New element (Was: Re: New x-pod sets)

(...) Very interesting indeed! (...) I've often wondered why the 'studs on all sides' was the only configuration of this style of brick. (...) Absolutely. So if these sets have been available for so long (as noted below) at retail, I wonder why (...) (22 years ago, 18-Jan-04, to lugnet.general)
