Re: Just noticed Rock Creature is nonmovable

(...) From the pictures I've seen, it looks like the right arm is movable, but not anything else. Sort of like the horses, but sillier. J (26 years ago, 11-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)

  $40 good deal for 8456?

Is $40 a good price for Technic #8456 Fiber Optic Multi Set? (URL) I have an opportunity to get some unopened boxes at this price, but I don't know if this is a good enough deal to get two. Ben G. (26 years ago, 10-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Mindstorms Available in NZ

(...) Same in the Dutch catalogue. Apparently, they spend most of their time battling the elements - or in the case of City, trying not to run into walls (!) - But once a year, they meet in the Millennium Dome (well, some dome, anyway :) ), and (...) (26 years ago, 10-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)

Todd Lehman skrev i meddelandet ... (...) Well, in Sweden, the inflation of the last 20 years has been more like 250%, so if it was here, it would _really_ be a price cut! I often use the price of a package of cigarettes as a measure of the (...) (26 years ago, 10-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Reissue Solution: Colors

(...) <snip> If the set were old enough, it might make a difference if you were talking Cellulose Acetate versus ABS plastic. I bought a set #717 (Junior Constructor) from circa 1963 on EBAY recently. I was surprised to find that besides the pieces (...) (26 years ago, 10-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Reissue Solution: Colors

(...) Well as someone who has a lot of older sets, I wouldn't be upset if they reissued some of the older sets. When you think of the thousands of sets that were produced since 1958, they aren't going to reissue more than a few anyway. It would (...) (26 years ago, 10-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)

Just noticed Rock Creature is nonmovable

Looks like it doesn't have any movable joints or anything. I do see a crease but every pic I see has it locked in the exact same position. Hmmm. More Town Juniorization at work. It could have been really neat to see this thing with at least jointed (...) (26 years ago, 10-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: 20 year evolution to get to... where we started

Todd Lehman wrote in message ... (...) The 40% inflation is actually low. A 3.5% annual rate of inflation would cause a doubling of the price over 20 years. Considering the last 20 years includes 1979,80,81 with double digit inflation rates, I'm (...) (26 years ago, 10-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Reissue Solution: Colors

(...) If the collector issue is a concern to TLG they could just release _Classic Space 2000_ or whatever with the same exact sets (or alterations as you've suggested) and the box would note the difference. I think that what that would do to the (...) (26 years ago, 10-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)

  RE: Reissue Solution: Colors

(...) Is that relevant for selling old sets? How many of the sets on auction really have the original pieces - as opposed to the bricks having been mixed with bricks from other sets, and the seller has then picked out the appropriate kind of brick?   Missing/malformed pieces?

Has anyone noticed an increase in missing or malfored pieces in the newer sets? Within the past two weeks I've found the following: - minifig head in Space Port bonus pack missing face - 5 light gray 1x1 bricks missing from Flying Ninja Fortress I (...)   Re: Missing/malformed pieces?

(...) I've gotten a few heads that look like they were double printed, they are all blurry. Also, it could just be me but I don't think the new bricks line up as well as the older ones did. -eben (26 years ago, 10-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Reissue Solution: Colors

Nothing can ever replace the original, but there is a demand for, a market for and thus potential profit in releasing a classic series. If TLG just monitored this network, they could formulate a group of sets to produce. Based on the demand of (...) (26 years ago, 10-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)
