Re: No way for a LEGO newbie to get up to speed? Unfair!

(...) I haven't seen the new 1999 Technic sets yet, but I would say that the piece selection in the 1998 sets where very good. Personally, I would find enough pieces to build many interesting things using a few 1998 Technic sets. (...) But there is (...) (26 years ago, 19-Jan-99, to lugnet.general)

No way for a LEGO newbie to get up to speed? Unfair!

You know, there doesn't really appear to be much in the way of LEGO for wannabe enthusiasts any more. (By the way, I'm thinking entirely on the Technic line here). It appears to me that every set these days seems to be geared towards developing a (...) (26 years ago, 19-Jan-99, to lugnet.general)

  TLG is loosing money!

This morning, I read in the newspaper that TLG Denmark will have to "dumb" 1,000 of its 10,000 workers due to bad commercial results! TLG itself is not in great danger, but it has lost a lot of customers to electronic toys and computergames. IMHO: (...) (26 years ago, 19-Jan-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: My own personal motherload of the month

(...) That's a problem with cats - they breed too much. You ever see those news stories where animal control and the health department have to go into someones house and clean up several years of accumulated excrement? At least that won't happen to (...)   My own personal motherload of the month

Well, it looks like I won't be getting the tremendous quantity of good deals like I did last year (can you say 35-40 6099's for $5 each?) but I did get something in the mail on Sunday (I guess it came Saturday but I didn't check it until Sunday (...) (26 years ago, 19-Jan-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: Attention Lugnet Philosophers! A quandry....

(...) There is a thread about this on RTL at the mo too. I think if you went for complete completeness, you'd have to get each set of the theme in every different package (that is, language) it was ever released in. And even the most fanatical of (...)   Re: MiniFig Ponderings?

(...) I wouldn't consider these to be strictly Town Jrish they do have their uses. Consider A Modular building (Like the big Ninja fort) that you want to be able to clip together. (...) I don't consider it as a Jr one, since it is on use for a long time, mostly in freestyle type sets, but even in space sets. Selçuk (26 years ago, 18-Jan-99, to lugnet.general)
