Well, I think the majority of us stand behind making a news service.
Should we use Jeff Shaws forum idea
of posting news or JHKs PHP idea?
Please let us all know what you think so work can get started.

Actually, after reading Richards
comments on this subject, my opinion is being swayed. I think that maybe we
havent fully given the lugnet.gaming.starship option a fair look. At the
least, it should be among the items on the vote you propose.
Pros for this third option: It would require only a single moderator. With
FTX, posts could already include links or graphics. It would keep most of our
non-email discussion in one easy-access place. Viewing threads or search
features work nicely. It is in a format and interface that many of us have
grown very familiar with. In character news posts have been done before without
any known problems. The list might go on...
Cons against this third option: Some participants might not be Lugnet members
and thus might have trouble posting (although some might argue this is not a
difficult obstacle to overcome). The traffic on this newsgroup might become a
bit busier (but I dont think it is all that busy now, and it could be organized
as Richard said with some sort of subject tags... maybe start the posts with IC
News: or SNN: or such).
...So, I am not placing a vote yet on this subject, but rather suggesting that
we keep discussion open to bring up all possible options before voting...
