I think it is too effective. I’ll be giving it a range of 6” and -2 per 6” thereafter. I want cannon fire to be about ship-to-ship combat and not slaughtering the crew while leaving the ship intact. From what I saw, GS is easily the most effective way to take a ship.

For most countries' fleets/ships/captains the whole point of shooting at an opposing ship was to disable it, board it and force the crew (or what was left of them) to surrender. For example, for the (...) (20 years ago, 1-Jun-04, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.gaming, FTX)
