This one harks back to olden days of rec.toys.lego. The idea isn't mine.
Credit goes to Derek Schin, and a few other folks (can't remember
exactly whom. Calum?)

[Poll question is: Why do you think The LEGO Company puts tiny holes in LEGO
baggies?]
...

My answer: none of the above.

I think the holes are there to allow the bag to be squeezed, not so that it
weighs less, but so that it takes up less volume, allowing the box to be
smaller.

Evidence not supporting my opinion is that I've opened multiple identical
sets with the same parts packaged in both hole and hole-free baggies, and
LEGO doesn't appear to be very concerned with minimizing the outer package
size these days, since a bigger box looks like it contains more or is worth
more.

So, I know the poll is just for fun, but can future polls include:
- None of the above.
- I don't know.
- I have no opinion, or don't care.
for us wet blankets?

Hmm.. let me put it this way:

- If you don't care, DON'T TAKE THE POLL! ;-)
- You don't know??
Isn't that why we're asking the question?! ;-)
This isn't a quiz, I only asked "what do you think?"
- Future polls? WHAT future polls?
- None of the above.
