Re: LEGO website bug report: Invalid forward apostrophe character

(...) God help us get through the next 4 years. I am seriously thinking of starting a web site dedicated to "The GW incoherent sentance of the day". I don't know how many of you get Comedy Central but my wife and I watch "The Daily Show with Jon (...) (24 years ago, 17-Jan-01, to lugnet.fun)

  Re: new trains?

(...) I'd love to see them adopt some DCC-controlled motors, so that we don't have to do the surgery ourselves (even though Thomas Cook at WAMALTC has posted an excellent pictorial guide for those who dare to try!) The current motors also pass the (...) (24 years ago, 17-Jan-01, to lugnet.fun, lugnet.trains)

  Re: New Crossword Puzzle: 003

(...) I hear ya... I put together one for castle just for kicks-- it was tough to get things that were ONLY castle related... But mainly it looks pretty ugly... Definitely not on par with the 3 existing ones-- totally asymmetric and full of (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jan-01, to lugnet.fun)

  Re: New Crossword Puzzle: 003

(...) While I like the idea you've suggested, I'm still a bit wary of narrowing down the wordlists for any particular puzzle. First because it would make it more difficult to fill the grids (we're teetering on the edge now), and secondly because I (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jan-01, to lugnet.fun)

  Re: new trains

(...) I sort-of agree with that. However, I'm officially supposed to be a castle fan, so I can continue to buy sets for castle parts. :-) (...) If they require a computer to run the trains, I would drop Lego trains and stick to castle, Technic and (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jan-01, to lugnet.fun, lugnet.trains)

  Re: New Crossword Puzzle: 003

The crossword puzzles are EXCELLENT. My mother recently moved to Indiana (I'm in Colorado) and I usually chat with her when I'm online. Last night, I showed her the crossword puzzle and we worked on it together. She's not a LEGO fan, but the puzzle (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jan-01, to lugnet.fun)

  Re: New Crossword Puzzle: 003

(...) Thanks for the cool puzzle! It was trickier than previous ones, and while I won't spoil it for anyone reading this, I wish it had more Space refereces (SW doesn't count). I think I suggested it before: have each newsgroup do a puzzle. Once a (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jan-01, to lugnet.fun)

  Re: new trains

I have pretty much put immediate Lego purchases on hold based on the notion that Lego will be releasing new train items soon. Even with some of the bargains going around right now, I would much rather have new 9v train items than a bunch of $10 (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jan-01, to lugnet.fun, lugnet.trains)

  Re: New Crossword Puzzle: 003

Thanks! I can't wait to do it. (And I thought I was getting ready to go to bed :) Thomas (24 years ago, 16-Jan-01, to lugnet.fun)

  Re: new trains

(...) Chris, what you are referring to is what's known as DCC or Digital Command Control. And given the recent alliance between Microsoft and LEGO, I also think we can expect to see this trend in most upcoming LEGO products. I only hope that they (...)   New Crossword Puzzle: 003

Hi all, I've made another interactive crossword puzzle here at LUGNET. You'll notice by the clues that it's made with the LEGO enthusiast in mind. It runs in Java and has features for checking your puzzle as you go and for help filling in words that (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jan-01, to lugnet.fun, lugnet.general, lugnet.announce) !

Re: funny Lego auction on ebay

(...) There was another funny thing I noticed recently! One seller had stated in his description that the auction included all that was in the picture. Well in half of his auctions, he had a dollar bill in the picture to show the scale. I was (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jan-01, to lugnet.fun)

  new trains

OK, so we have lots of really strong hints (basically statements) that there is going to be a new/changed line of Lego trains coming out soon. As one of the people who doesn't know what it is, I'm darned near dying of curiosity. So, it ocurred to (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jan-01, to lugnet.fun, lugnet.trains)

Re: funny Lego auction on ebay

(...) Heh, I don't think I would have caught that without your 'joke'. :) Perhaps I'm slowing down. Wow, imagine a town set that takes as long as the UCS X-wing to build! What a find! Maybe I'll win the auction and then complain to him that it (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jan-01, to lugnet.fun)

  funny Lego auction on ebay

Take a look at the description for item 542518100. Search "lego 6543". Tell me if you find out whats funny. I think the seller is 'slow'! (24 years ago, 15-Jan-01, to lugnet.fun)

  Re: LEGO Fountain

(...) I use blue bricks to support plantpots off my cement balcony, been there several years cold, wet, hot, dry, sun and they still look good. Bit of dirt thats all. DaveG (24 years ago, 14-Jan-01, to lugnet.fun.crafts)

  Re: LEGO Fountain

(...) I seriously doubt water would have much deteriorating effect, though you could get a buildup of deposited minerals, and if any algae or other slime started growing in the water, it would coat the bricks. I have left bricks in buckets of soapy (...) (24 years ago, 14-Jan-01, to lugnet.fun.crafts)

  Re: LEGO Fountain

Does water seem to have any negative effects on LEGO bricks? I meant to ask this about the snowglobes and forgot but the fountain made me think about it again. Do the bricks fade or deteriorate at all? It probably wouldn't be an issue with the (...) (24 years ago, 14-Jan-01, to lugnet.fun.crafts)
