Technic Fun Models - Hats and Musical Instruments!

A couple of Technic fun models from a couple of years ago: A crown, using some technic body parts from C3P0. Technic parts make it fit well on my head: (URL) A working tambourine, with overlapping Technic beams, for quite a strong structure, and (...)   Re: LEGO appearances in the "maker" scene

(...) Ya but not a very good link, because there's nothing about the LDD parts library or the fan efforts at Ldraw (that I'm aware of). Interesting article, I agree with the thesis, the LEGO market does have long tail characteristics which the (...) (19 years ago, 18-Oct-05, to lugnet.mediawatch, lugnet.general, lugnet.fun)

Re: LEGO appearances in the "maker" scene

(...) Do you have a link for this? I couldn't find it at the site. Thanks, Darrell (19 years ago, 18-Oct-05, to lugnet.mediawatch, lugnet.general, lugnet.fun)

LEGO appearances in the "maker" scene

Since I've started reading the Make Mazine blog ((URL) I've run across more "out-there" references to LEGO. There have been a couple of LEGO computer articles, and an article about LEGO as a rapid-prototyping tool. A couple of the latest: An (...)   Darkageinosis: Research for a Cure

After suffering from increased symptoms of Dimageanomia for over a year, I am now fearful that recent tests will read positive that my condition has deteriorated into Darkageinosis.   GBC on Breakfast Television

Hello to everyone & GBC addicts! I went To Breakfast Television on Tuesday, sept 13, to present the now VERY famous Great Ball Contraption (GBC). After the success in Brickfest, AND the smiles of KKK, I decided to introduce the GBC in Nova Scotia. (...) (19 years ago, 16-Sep-05, to lugnet.fun.community, lugnet.loc.ca.ns, lugnet.technic)

Re: What was the first set you bought for parts, and how old were you?

I can't remember the set, but everything I've bought since the end of my Dark Ages, circa 1992 or so, have been parts buys. Most of it was mixed secondhand stuff from a consignment shop is big ziploc bags, but they had some complete sets as well. (...) (19 years ago, 13-Sep-05, to lugnet.general, lugnet.fun)

Re: What was the first set you bought for parts, and how old were you?

I was an adult (39). I had been brought out by Dark Ages by Lego Mindstorms, but rapidly discovered I needed more Technics parts. So I went out and bought some 1257 {Trike Buggy} and some 1259 {Bike Blaster}. Kerry (19 years ago, 12-Sep-05, to lugnet.general, lugnet.fun)

Re: What was the first set you bought for parts, and how old were you?

(...) For me it was as an adult. Circa 1980 (I was 27), and it was the London Bus Set #760 (#384 in Canada, Britain, Australia and continental Europe). This set was first produced in 1975 in USA (1974 elsewhere). I found them on clearance at a "J. (...) (19 years ago, 9-Sep-05, to lugnet.general, lugnet.fun, FTX)

Re: What was the first set you bought for parts, and how old were you?

(...) I remember buying the Beach Buggy 8845 because it had suspension springs. I think I was 8 at the time. I had £20 and that was about £13 and the rail tanker 7816 was £6.49. That was in preference to one £20 set because of the parts. It was the (...) (19 years ago, 9-Sep-05, to lugnet.general, lugnet.fun, FTX)

What was the first set you bought for parts, and how old were you?

For me, it was the (URL) 6626 Rescue Helicopter> from 1981, and I was 10. I wanted the rotor-mount because it was unlike anything I had in my small collection up to that point. My mother asked me specifically whether I wanted the set for itself or (...) (19 years ago, 9-Sep-05, to lugnet.general, lugnet.fun, FTX)

Re: Want to help LEGOFan.org while you're at BrickFest?

(...) This looks like fun. Expect me to be driving the price up! Some of these should go in the live auction though, I bet they would raise a lot more money that way (and the bidding will be fun).   Re: Want to help LEGOFan.org while you're at BrickFest?

I know Todd always thought that odd lot sizes drove up prices but if you can get several builders happy, that's goodness. IMHO anyway. (Lar would (...)
