Re: Multiple FAQ's (was CFD: lugnet.market.shipping)

(...) How about Sgml instead of comma-delimited? Then we can say it's industry-standard :) Jasper, who doesn't _really_ know what the hell he's talking about, but is interested just the same. (26 years ago, 13-Jan-99, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.faq)

  Multiple FAQ's (was CFD: lugnet.market.shipping)

Also sprach Todd Lehman: : Having a separate .shipping newsgroup also implies a separate and "real" : branch of the new FAQ. Todd is getting way ahead of me here, so I think an update is in order. I am doing what I can to get a first edition of the (...) (26 years ago, 9-Jan-99, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.faq)

  News servers for RTL

Kinda off topic here but... I need a reliable news server for RTL and other misc news groups. If any one knows a good one... Please let me know. Thanks. Now back to you regularly scheduled Lego programing.... (26 years ago, 8-Jan-99, to lugnet.faq)

  CFD: lugnet.market.shipping

[Crossposted to lugnet.admin.general & lugnet.general & lugnet.faq, with followups set to lugnet.admin.general] This is an informal call for discussion on the topic of creating a new newsgroup lugnet.market.shipping dedicated to: - discussions - (...)   Re: Questions for FAQ

(...) What I find _really_ odd, is that multiples of a piece may appear in different bags. Fore example, in the 8880 I oipened a few days ago, black 1*2 plates were in at least 2, possibly 3 bags. Weird? yes. :) Jasper (26 years ago, 5-Jan-99, to lugnet.faq)

  Debugging Monorails

I humbly propose the following: (from RTL) <I still owe the Dacta/Pitsco group> Q: I'm having trouble getting my monorail to work right. It's a 6991, the lights come on but the motor won't go. I checked my work against the instructions carefully, (...) (26 years ago, 4-Jan-99, to lugnet.faq)

  Re: Questions for FAQ

I've got a couple that come from my curiosity about TLG itself: How do they (TLG) determine which pieces go into which bags in a kit? Sometimes it seems logical: one bag of 5 1X12 beams, for example, or all technic connectors (but they might put a (...) (26 years ago, 3-Jan-99, to lugnet.faq)

  Volume of bricks

In a fit of boredom, I worked out the volumes of bricks once, studs were not included in the calculations. 1x1, 1x2, 1x3, 1x4, 2x2, 2x3, 2x4 and 1x6 were done. Even though the volumes are at best approximate, would anyone want them for the (...) (26 years ago, 3-Jan-99, to lugnet.faq)

  Re: Questions for FAQ

I mentioned on the original thread in lugnet.general: Who is Timmy? Maybe a better question would be 'Who's Who in Lego Land?', or something else that would discuss all of the more notorious minifig characters. Greg (...) (26 years ago, 3-Jan-99, to lugnet.faq)

  CHM

I wouldn't mind compileing the FAQ into a .chm (compiled html) file, small enough for distribution, and it inculdes pictures and text like a normal HTML file, but it's all contained in one file -- ( Ickna / Nick H. ) ( (URL) ) ( (...) (26 years ago, 2-Jan-99, to lugnet.faq)

  Questions for FAQ

Ok, here is a dedicated thread to ASK the questions, someone else can create the answer thread, and whoever so feels inclined to write the FAQ can merge the threads and whatnot. -- Ickna / Nick Holdbrooks (26 years ago, 2-Jan-99, to lugnet.faq)

[FAQ] Post vs. mail, claimed topics

(...) I would never sign up to coordinate the whole thing, but can see doing some contributing. I suspect several others feel the same way I will try my hand at a few Q and As today but would rather post them in lugnet.faq than send them. Posting (...)   OK, here we go ...

I had been holding off on doing a lot of work until I got a consensus that this was worth doing, especially since Tom seems unwilling to relinquish control of the RTL faq. But it seems that a lot of people are interested in seeing alugnet faq, and (...) (26 years ago, 2-Jan-99, to lugnet.faq, lugnet.general)
