  Re: Microfig Borg Cube

(...) Oh, *that* catalog. :-, I thought it was a cheat-sheet sort of thing with mnemonics and all sorts of memory-keeping features. I definitely think that the LDraw FAQ should include a quick-n-dirty cheat sheet, then. Earlier in this thread (1) (...) (26 years ago, 28-Apr-99, to lugnet.faq)

Re: Progress so far, and a new header

Another header...? I want to be able to make context-specific notes on the FAQ items, which will not be exposed in the final output. I'm thinking of something like a Comment: header, which the parser will discard during processing. Cheers, - jsproat (26 years ago, 28-Apr-99, to lugnet.faq)

  Re: Scope of FAQ?

(...) You or I could start work on this before translations or FAQ subset extraction are implemented; the bulk of the work in snarfing a FAQ will be to copy the existing questions into their own files and start creating headers. Cheers, - jsproat (26 years ago, 28-Apr-99, to lugnet.faq)

Progress so far, and a new header

FAQ crew, I've gathered 23 questions for the FAQ so far (1), and stuffed them into a holding patteren until the header format is closer to being finalized. In the mean time: I feel that we should allow an Originator header, to give credit towards (...) (26 years ago, 28-Apr-99, to lugnet.faq)

  Re: Who's who in Legoland

(...) Hmmm, I would imagine that images would have to be linked to. One intent for the FAQ is for it to be delivered in plaintext format via e-mail, nntp, or Morse Code if needed; inline images would get in the way. I agree, though, that images (...) (26 years ago, 28-Apr-99, to lugnet.faq)

  Who's who in Legoland

I have a question: will the faq be able to display graphics? If so, this might be helpful in ID'ing who Timmy is, what a Timmy-torso is, etc. rather by pix than by text. It's obviously more work but I just I'd ask. -Tom McD. when replying, note that (...) (26 years ago, 28-Apr-99, to lugnet.faq)

  Re: Microfig Borg Cube

(...) Steve, Do you happen to have a URL for Patrick's catalog? Cheers, - jsproat (26 years ago, 28-Apr-99, to lugnet.faq)

  Working on the FAQ

Hey y'all, We're really working to get a FAQ put together! :-, The FAQ will be patterned after the LUGNET site structure, and has room for Q+A on anything and everything you'd expect to see on LUGNET. If you have any questions for the FAQ -- or (...) (26 years ago, 28-Apr-99, to lugnet.faq, lugnet.announce)

Re: Raw FAQ data format (Was: Format of FAQ items)

(...) Oh waitaminute. I think I see where the confusion is. I'm not suggesting that the header text from the included file be inserted into the including file. What I mean to say is that during processing of the files, when the including file (...) (26 years ago, 28-Apr-99, to lugnet.faq)

Sproaticus: (...) Yes, but it is not equally clear. Please forget that I mentioned it. (...) No (but it would mean that it should be reprocessed). Imagine this: "translating.da": Content-Language: da Revision: Jacob Sparre Andersen, 1999-04-28 (...) (26 years ago, 28-Apr-99, to lugnet.faq)

Re: Working sketch of FAQ item data format

(...) Start small, plan big. (...) Sure! (...) Sounds accurate to me. (...) If permission is granted explicitly, then sure -- as long as it isn't just dumped in without verifying it (since it's so old). BTW, the acronyms list, probably should IMHO (...) (26 years ago, 28-Apr-99, to lugnet.faq)

  Scope of FAQ?

Todd, Jacob, all, I've been putting together an intro message (kind of a call-to-arms :-) announcing the re-start of the FAQ and a list of Q+A posted to lugnet.faq . But have we determined the scope of the FAQ? How all-encompassing will it be? Is it (...) (26 years ago, 27-Apr-99, to lugnet.faq)

Re: [FAQ] Post vs. mail, claimed topics

(...) OK, no problem, Larry. Thanks. :-, Cheers, - jsproat (26 years ago, 27-Apr-99, to lugnet.faq, lugnet.general)

Re: [FAQ] Post vs. mail, claimed topics

(...) Bandwidth constraints suggest to me that I should relinquish claim on these topics if someone else wants to take a crack at them, as they need doing. (26 years ago, 27-Apr-99, to lugnet.faq, lugnet.general)

Re: [FAQ] Post vs. mail, claimed topics

(...) What?!? You mean you don't know? :-, I actually have no clue about this one. But I am waiting to hear a good story about it. (1) :-, Cheers, - jsproat 1. HINT HINT NUDGE NUDGE, Larry. (26 years ago, 27-Apr-99, to lugnet.faq, lugnet.general)
