But Im the loudest right??? Come on, the other guys pale in comparision.

   6. I can teach people who’s names start with J, to whistle loudly. (Janey, John, Jason)

I am eterally grateful, because that is a stupid human trick I have tried to learn my whole life. Aside from a few spit accidents, Im doing well enough to get Shane and Brett’s attention.

   8. Nick showed people how he made a shank (2) to defend himself should his pillow wall fail to protect the advances of his roommates.

Ummm, I think the shank wasnt for protection, it was for advances.

   15. many AFOL’s dont seem to Grok the “art” of the crushed brick. in fact, many AFOL’s can get very upset at the sight of a crushed and mangled 2x4 red brick (6)

You know, thats just a bit mean... I take you halfway around the “world” (wink) to share the joy of a brick event... and this is how you thank me. Hmmm, you are one cruel man, Mr Black.

Of course, you did save me from the “drivers” in downtown Chicago, so I will overlook all the meanness.

i guess if you’ve seen one lego event, you’ve seen them all.

Yes, I believe you are correct...

Of course, if you ever attend another (that is if they dont ban the Canadian Heckling Contingent).... you will need a new measuring stick to “value” your event experience.

FOR me... this event was measured in all the “stuff” I did (and didnt) come home with.

Lets see... I just unpacked and I am checking out the bounty of my trip.

1. First of all, I came home with Nick’s shank. I’m touched that he would share such a finely crafted tool of destruction with me, and it will take an position of honour in my home, right beside my triple beam balance and my bong.

2. CHROME... YAY for auctions, and YAY me for cheating with seven seconds left, so I could unfairly “steal” ALL the Chrome right from poor Jason. He did win that high coveted set tho, so all is fair in Love and Lego. Besides, its important to kill the silence of the “silent auction.” (btw, the paypal payment has been sent, BW check your inbox)

3. Lego store purchases, nicely discounted, without any crowds. The early bird gets the worm but the confident bird gets the bigger discount.

4. 2 Mechahub 2 shirts for my Mechahub deprived children, plus huge bags of cool pieces from Mr Bryce. Mmmmm aqua, dark green tiles, glow in the dark rounds, dude, I must find a better way to say thank you.

5. Steve’s balls (Need I say more?? I think not.)

6. All of Jason’s purchases, auctions winnings, and door prizes... (he thinks I brought them over just so he didn’t have to carry them on the plane, but he will never see them again.) Chris’s door prizes too! (Thank you for the very cool dino!)

7. Gifts of fruit... cherries, snowpeas, seedless grapes and a perfect tiny little apple to compete with the all the lunch and breakfasts consumed at Denny’s (our pathetic IHOP replacement.)

8. 3 very special individually wrapped toothpicks (athougth, Mr Pink, errr I mean Nick says they are for Jude, he will never see them. I have already had them mounted behind glass) Noticing a theme yet???? (1)

9. Engraved bricks as well as ME models and fan created item purchases.

.....

19. The memories... oh the memories... 9 hour trip taking 13 hours (Bridge angsnt, Skyway angst, 601 Milwaukee angst), eating dinner with the Pope, watching ppl react to CCM (especially Teddy when he called “MAAAA” out in Joes basement), cheeky Lego Monkey jammies, C-Punches times two, knowing a castle shield can only protect the guilty, oatmeal cookie shooters, Russian waitress billing systems, going long, finally having a breakthru with Kevin the DJ, learning how the event was named, listening to the word “fart” with an english accent. Basically the whole thrill of victory...and the agony of defeat! Not to mention the lessons in morality, and learning never to judge. Its a whole new world out there, of course, I think I will let it pass me by.

(1) Possession is nine/tenths of the law.

Yep, its all about how you score!

Thanks to all the lovely ppl that bestowed gifts of Lego and other paraphernalia on me.

(...) That's funny, because the first thing I ever heard from you was when you (even before I realized that you were you!) screamed out Thursday night, causing the entire hall to go silent.
