BrickFest starts up in just a few short days. I hope you are all as excited as I am to be participating in such a great convention.

As you make your final preparations for traveling, don’t forget to pack all your MOC’s and all those last-minute pieces you figure you will add after you arrive at BrickFest. Pack them well--broken MOC’s are no fun, even if you CAN rebuild them.

Also, don’t forget to pack your money! This year’s Brick Bazaar is shaping up to be spectacular. Over 20 vendors are signed up to bring you all kinds of LEGO sets, parts, minifigs, and whatever else they can think of that you might want to buy or trade for. So don’t forget to bring lots of “extra” spending money and any LEGO items you are willing to trade away.

Like last year, a live auction is being planned. We hope to have some excellent items for you to satisfy that impluse to buy even more LEGO!

And it looks like a silent auction will be possible this year, too. The folks at LegoFan.org have stepped up with some superb items that should really test your bidding prowess. Remember that anyone can contribute items for auction, so the sky is the limit on what might be available. If you have something neat you are willing to auction off, bring it along and we will fit it it into either the silent auction or the live auction.

While we are on the topic of spending money on more LEGO for your collection, don’t forget that LEGO Retail is offering some fine discounts again this year to help you satisfy your appetite for bricks.

Between the Brick Bazaar, the auctions, and the LEGO Retail specials, everyone at BrickFest should be able to find something to satisfy their building needs and boost their collections regardless of their budget. Keep in mind, too, that your purchases at the Brick Bazaar and the auctions benefit all BrickFest attendees since a portions of all sales goes directly to BrickFest.

Above all else, we wish everyone plenty fun and good times at BrickFest.

(...) Hey Kevin (or whomever)-- Who's handling this registration of vendors? Is that over? The BF site doesn't have any kind of signup that I've been able to find. Or do we just sort of show up? I do want to sell some parts to defray my costs, but (...) (20 years ago, 9-Aug-05, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

(...) Oh, Yes! (^^) Wheee! (...) Who are they? I'm sorry. I can't find a list. :-\ Also, do you think they would rather not be contacted prior to the event about their stock? I'd love to see some lists of what they'd be bringing, but I can imagine (...) (20 years ago, 9-Aug-05, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

(...) How do the proceeds benefit all attendees? I'm not trying to be sarcastic; I'm legitimately asking the question, because I really don't know. Brickfest has been at the same place, and the attendance is larger each year, but the admission fee (...) (20 years ago, 9-Aug-05, to lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX)
