  Schedule for BrickFest PDX 2007

Hey everyone! I'm looking for the schedule of events for Brickfest. I can't seem to pull it up anywhere--so if some nice person would please point me in the right direction, I'd much much obliged. Especially since my beautiful and charming bride of (...) (18 years ago, 16-Mar-07, to lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX) !

Re: BrickFest PDX 2007 - who's getting paid?

(...) That is why I said 'of sufficient involvement' and the no hard and fast rules bit you snipped. In the case of a small convention like BV then there simply aren't the funds to let all the volunteers in for free. In that case you have to set the (...)   Re: BrickFest PDX 2007 - who's getting paid?

(...) Not sure I agree there either - speaking as an organiser of Brickvention, all the organisers, helpers, presenters, etc paid registration, it meant the difference between a small loss and a large loss. Even our Australian LEGO Ambassador paid (...) (18 years ago, 15-Mar-07, to lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX)

Re: BrickFest PDX 2007 - who's getting paid?

--snip-- (...) On that I don't think I agree. I think that volunteers (of sufficient involvement) should be given free registration. If you are volunteering then you have to attend and it is thus an expense. In the event of a loss then I imagine (...) (18 years ago, 15-Mar-07, to lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX)

Re: BrickFest PDX 2007 - who's getting paid?

(...) Tommy: Here, here! I agree. Everyone else: Here's where I boldly go where I probably shouldn't. Conventions cost money. There is money to pay for licensing fees, building usage, etc. If there is a profit, it (usually) does not go into the (...) (18 years ago, 15-Mar-07, to lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX)

Re: BrickFest '07 Creative Badge Contest

Well as it turns out Tommy Armstrong of <www.brickengraver.com> has generously offered a $75 e-gift certificate for the winner of the creative badge contest! So get buildin'! THANKS TOMMY!!! SteveB PS Tommy says I'm no longer eligible since I'm the (...) (18 years ago, 15-Mar-07, to lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX) !!

Re: BrickFest PDX 2007 - who's getting paid?

(...) Then why did you say "last year's BrickFest brought in $13000 in profit for himself" (my emphasis) rather than "... for BrickJournal Media LLC"? (...) So again, why did you say "last year's BrickFest brought in $13000 in profit for himself"? (...) (18 years ago, 15-Mar-07, to lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX)

Re: BrickFest PDX 2007 - who's getting paid?

(...) The word "profit" was Joe's: The total profit that went to BrickJournal Media LLC was about $13,000. This is in addition to the $3,000 that went to AMH Productions for use of the BrickFest name, as determined by an agreement that was signed in (...) (...) Not to mention the considerable financial risk he would have taken. Cheers Richie Dulin (18 years ago, 15-Mar-07, to lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX)

Re: BrickFest PDX 2007 - who's getting paid?

(...) --snip-- (...) Well people have a right to ask and if they are attending (and contributing to the profit) then they may have a reason to ask too. Peronally I'd be a lot happier paying more for a fest that's expensive because of expenses than (...) (18 years ago, 15-Mar-07, to lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX)
