  Thank You Margaret Keys

Well I'm back in the real world. Special thanks and recognition goes out to Margaret Keys who volunteered to pick up and deliver T J Avery, Anthony Sava and myself back to the airport. This was way above and beyond the call of duty. Thank you, (...) (21 years ago, 11-Aug-03, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

Re: BrickFest mention on CBS radio in NorCal

(...) WTIC 1080 AM in Hartford, CT also carried this Brickfest story this morning, but then they added a bit of local flavor by discussing the model builders in Enfield, CT (not far from Hartford) who have careers building models for Lego, then they (...)   Re: BrickFest 2003 Keynote Broadcast - BrickCast 2003

(...) Note that this last line item is severely non trivial. The rtlToronto gang are a bunch of technoGeeks but several of them nevertheless had to spend several hours on this project on Friday making sure that things were set up. Major props to (...)   Re: Saturday General Session Announcements

(...) No problem. I figured that was the case considering I had three posts in a row. (...) Exactly my point. A BrickFest event put on the west coast on the same weekend we were anticipating a BW event without any previous mention and entirely (...)   Re: More vending at BF: now with 2-inch capsules!!

(...) From what I saw, they were minifigures standing on a 4x4 green plate. Some had Lugnet stickers, others BrickFest 2003 stickers and some with older BrickFest 2002 stickers. I thought the one I had from 2002 was cute, so I got a 2003 one. It's (...) (21 years ago, 11-Aug-03, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

Re: Thanks for the web broadcast!

I just want to add my thanks for the work and effort put into the webcast. And also to Larry for having the AIM chat - between the 2 it was almost as good as being there in person! THANKS!! Mark P (URL) (21 years ago, 11-Aug-03, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

Re: BrickFest 2003 Keynote Broadcast - BrickCast 2003

(...) Official answer: The proportion of non Windows platform users is not worth effort to support them. WindowsMedia allows for easy content creation, encoding, broadcast, administration and works on servers I have easy access to. In the future, if (...)   Re: Thanks for the web broadcast!

(...) You're welcome. Many people offered to help to get the broadcast together and it was watched from places as far as Australia, Brazil, Japan and Denmark. Thanks to all who helped! Calum (21 years ago, 11-Aug-03, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

  Re: Saturday General Session Announcements

First of all, Dave, I'd like to apoligize to you if you felt I was jumping down your throat personally. I read LUGNET from the main News page, I got sick of seeing people complaining about the situation without actually trying to do anything about (...)   Re: Saturday General Session Announcements

(...) Here is my senile recollection of those historical events. Many of us batted around the idea of having a west coast brickfest type convention. While in infancy our East coast counter parts voiced loud opposition to everything from our desire (...)   Re: Brickfest 2003 Question and Answer

(...) Enough to make it worth while creating a set like this... I guess? (...) Which is why I wondered if adult builders would want it. Perhaps it's aimed more directly at pure Star Wars fans than previous sets from this series? Contrasted with the (...) (21 years ago, 10-Aug-03, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.starwars, FTX)

  Re: Saturday General Session Announcements

(...) I'm in total agree ment there. I've already started preliminary plans using the connections I could reach on a Sunday. I'll expect better responses tomorrow. (...) How about September 6th? It's good to see someone is giving a thumbs up to my idea :-) It's also good to see this topic starting getting some attention. Let's go back in history to when the BW idea (...)   Re: More vending at BF: now with 2-inch capsules!!

(...) Can anyone share some news about what's in the vending machine plastic capsules? Is there a variety of items or do they all have the same contents? I could sure use a bunch of LUGNET mini-fig logo stickers for a MOC I'm building! (21 years ago, 10-Aug-03, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

  Re: Saturday General Session Announcements

<snip> Why Portland???? What possible draw is Portland???? To me the draw of BW was LLCA!! I'm not one of those 'same old, same old', but I can understand that feeling. To be fair, another draw IS the store/being able to buy sets there as well as (...) (21 years ago, 10-Aug-03, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.events.brickswest, lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

Re: Brickfest 2003 Question and Answer

I seriously doubt they'll have any trouble moving enough (...) (21 years ago, 10-Aug-03, to lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX)

  BrickFest Portland 2004

Hi... I just talked to Steve (and others) about this topic. He realises that there are a lot of open questions and valid concerns, and would like to apologise for not having been able to answer them all at the same time that the announcement was (...)   Re: Brickfest 2003 Question and Answer

(...) Which still doesn't really answer the question of who's going to buy it, only by which arm of their distribution network it's being sold on.   Re: BrickFest mention on CBS radio in NorCal

(...) The Bay Area ABC radio affiliate picked up on it too. In addition to mentioning the "cathedrals to robots", they talked to AF'sOL who admitted spending upwards of $10,000 a year on LEGO.
