It has just been annonced on the Danish News, that Lego has stopped making
DUPLO. A new concept for the 2-6 year old children, Explorer, will be
introduced this autumn.
No more DUPLO?!? My 3 year old niece will be devastated, she loves her DUPLO!

While my interest in DUPLO is pretty small, the fact that Lego is dropping it is both encouraging and discouraging. Are they doing it to optimize their products for the current market? Or are they just writing off an old (...) (23 years ago, 14-May-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.duplo)

(...) Don't worry all! The name and maybe a bit of the principles of Duplo may dissapear but the bricks have not. LEGO Explorer still contains sets with DUPLO blocks, however, Explorer does also contain some different types of toddler and baby toys. (...) Man, I just got back into DUPLO® trains and now they want to discontinue the name! Hopefully they will keep the trains... Harvey Henkelman-Certified Ferroequinologist (23 years ago, 14-May-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.duplo)
