Here is where I have the issue--to *you* it's the worst decision the company
ever made. Along with the original letter inferring in the english translation
that this petition was from 'all' AFOL's (a problem with translation so we're
told now, and i haven't read the German one to see if the inference is there as
well), most people who have, what I consider an overtly large, issue with the
colour change think that *everyone* should think that this is the *worst*
decision that TLC has ever made, and those that don't think as such are somehow
'kissing up' to TLC.

Statement 1--I do not kiss up to TLC. I tell it like it is, in my opinion.
Statement 2--You can believe that this is the worst decision that TLC has ever
made, but you cannot take that belief and project it onto others, or speak for
them. For example, you can state--
"In my opinion, this is the worst decision that TLC ever made!"
You cannot state emphatically, "This is the worst decision ever made"

I like to think I'm a pretty good builder. I may not be as good as some, and I
may be better than others. I know really great builders that don't really care
about the colour change, and I know some really poor builders that don't care
about the colour change.
As I said to someone else earlier--I have my camp and you have yours--where does
that get us? Which camp is better? Who defines what a great builder is and
shoud we then 'bow down' and listen to what they have to say about the colour
change?

What makes you feel entitled to chime in with this attitude because some people
don't believe what you do? What makes your "dedicated AFOL's who think that the
colour change is the worst thing" superior to my "dedicated AFOL's who are
ambivalent to the colour change"?
And for the record, how do you think that this animosity is actually "improving
the situation". My belief is that you're causing consternation with TLC in
general--you're alienating the very people who would do, and have actually have
done, good work for the AFOL community. If I were an executive at TLC, I would
have 'turned a blind eye' to the AFOL community due to the apparent childish
behaviour that they display when TLC makes business decisions.

I'm not asking anyone to not voice an opinion. But look at your post right
here--it's presumtuous (speaking for a large group of supposed 'great builders
so we *must* listen to them!), it's stand-offish "I don't like what you say so
you just shouldn't talk!")--why would anyone who can make decisions at TLC take
you seriously?

Yes it does--it concerns me and my friends who, in my opinion, are 'great
designers' as well. Myself, as well as they, don't mind the new colours.
Furthermore, we don't presume to know what's best for a multi-billion dollar
company, nor do we dictate what is good and what is bad for this company from
the 'cheap seats'.

I'd rather the 'serious complainers' take a close look at this obsession and
perhaps book some time in with counsellors or pshrinks, for they have, again in
my opinion, stepped over the line from 'a hobby' to 'an obsession'.
