Re: Are you going to tell them or am I?

(...) Yep: Number 1, 1999: Chen Jia En (Hong Kong)has a model remarkably like the small exploriens base [a couple of VERY minor differences] Couldn't find last December, so that's probably the one you're thinking of...though almost every magazine (...)   Re: Why hasn't Lego done a Lando or Panaka and is there a reason?

Jeremy & All, (Sheesh, this is the most I have posted on LUGNET in awhile) (...) That's all right, it is an interesting question, and there is nothing wrong with asking, but it was a pretty painful discussion for a lot of people. Just trying to be a (...)   Re: Bring back the old

Lindsay & All, (...) Right, ther eis nothing wrong with being an optimist, I would love to see it, and sicne TLC has turned around a bit in terms of the Legends, who knows? I would be happy with it. (...) I would think they could make a new mold for (...) (23 years ago, 27-Mar-02, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: Bring back the old

(...) I think it's more that they don't want to invest in a new mold--which has been fairly well established as being a lengthy and costly process-- for a relatively limited-circulation (yes, limited!) item. But as far as I know it's the only part (...) (23 years ago, 27-Mar-02, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Why hasn't Lego done a Lando or Panaka and is there a reason?

(...) Okay, everyone ignore the post. I'm new so I wasn't part of those and had no idea they existed. However, will someone inform me on how to search the newsgroups for these topics so that I can see what others think about this topic. My email is (...)   Re: Bring back the old

(...) I still don't understand the whole big deal with the old-style helmets. How many new molds has Lego made in the last copule of years with Bionicle, HP, Starwars, JS, Belville etc etc... how much would it hurt for them to make ONE to re-release (...)   Re: Bring back the old

(...) Actually, I've gotta disagree on that one. Maybe I'm just a hopeless optimist (wait, isn't that contradictory?), but the "Classic" spaceman is so very classic that I think it would find a wide audience even among those who don't collect (...) (23 years ago, 27-Mar-02, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: Bring back the old

Bill & All, (...) Well, first off, I think it was more wishful thinking than anything. Second, I think there is some worthwhile discussion especially since LEGO seems to be in the habit of bringing out some older sets as of late. While we do not (...)   Re: Why hasn't Lego done a Lando or Panaka and is there a reason?

Jeremy, This subject has been talked about numerous times before, I suggest re-reading those threads and seeing various opinions and then see if dragging this issue out again is worthwhile. It has started in Star Wars, went into debate, etc. etc. (...) (23 years ago, 27-Mar-02, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: Bring back the old

Lindsay & All, (...) Well, I was chuckling at myself when I wrote this, I doubt any classic spacemen will come to life again. More of a wish than anything. That is what Dear LEGO is for. : ) (...) 10 actually isn't too bad either, but I won't hold (...) (23 years ago, 27-Mar-02, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Why hasn't Lego done a Lando or Panaka and is there a reason?

Hello all LUGNETers: I have an interesting question which may have or may not have been spoken about before. Why hasn't lego created any differently colored heads for representation of different skin colors? The Lego Star Wars line is missing one of (...)   Re: Bring back the old

(...) They could make it, but who'd buy it? A couple hundred AFOLs would jump at the opportunity, but the 12-year-olds would turn their noses at it and head over to the Bionicle aisle. --Bill. (23 years ago, 26-Mar-02, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: Bring back the old

(...) Unfortunately, Futuron might not be quite "classic" enough for the demand (although I wouldn't mind seeing them too). But the Classic spaceman--albeit with a newer-style helmet, I'd imagine--has no unique parts and in fact only *one* printing (...) (23 years ago, 26-Mar-02, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Are you going to tell them or am I?

(...) <snip> Possibly I'm missing the point but I'd swear there was a kid with a (genuine) Lego set built to the original design published in the Australian/Asian equivalent of the mag sometime over the past 8 editions (2 years) which is as long as (...)   Re: Are you going to tell them or am I?

(...) That's shocking. I'm speculating now, but I wonder how many pictures of kids with genuine LEGO COTS models actually get sent in to the magazine and get filtered out? I mean, would you think of sending in a picture of a known set? Probably not. (...) (23 years ago, 26-Mar-02, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Are you going to tell them or am I?

[snip] (...) Well everything I have read on Lugnet about TLC, seems to indicate that they operate in a bubble. They do not recognize the fact that Mega Bloks is a serious competitor. I would not be surprised if the Lego upper management does not (...) (23 years ago, 26-Mar-02, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: If you could leave any book on Kjeld's nightstand...

Hm...well, first, with all those books, he'd need a second table. I suggest: First, to make a second table...I'd take two 3303 tubs and stack them on top of each other (hint hint). Then, use the top of the tub as a stand to place one of my old (...) (23 years ago, 25-Mar-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: If you could leave any book on Kjeld's nightstand...

(...) I'd go with Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. Not only is it a great book, but also might prompt more castle creations. Perhaps if he'd read this years ago we'd have a Lego Lord of the Rings line rather than that Intelliblox brick/action figure (...) (23 years ago, 26-Mar-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego)
