Re: Lego Direct (was Re: Georgia LEGO Outlet is Cool!)

(...) This is one argument I am not getting involved in. Way too many "ad hominem" attacks against the person. But I will say (in an off handed compliment) that Larry is much nicer in person than in print. :-) I don't think you folks are going to (...) (25 years ago, 27-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego) !

Re: Lego Direct (was Re: Georgia LEGO Outlet is Cool!)

(...) Richard, You're kidding, right? We're talking about a *very* limited quantity of sets. Catalog inserts? Those cost money and take plenty of time to make and stuff into the catalogs - and by the time they get out, the sets will probably be (...) (25 years ago, 27-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego) !

Re: Lego Direct (was Re: Georgia LEGO Outlet is Cool!)

(...) I think its interesting that you feel the need to "retaliate" about something that is actually addressed "Dear-Lego" and concerns the manner in which TLC does business with us fans. You "few" guys are pretty reflexive about this point I am (...) (25 years ago, 27-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

(...) When the facts about how reality works are running against you, and you don't want to admit it, go with ad hominem, eh? As I pointed out in .debate, (1)(2) you're in good company. "slithers", "silverback preening", "virility"? I'm sensing a (...) (25 years ago, 27-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego) !

(...) i too, live in georgia, 3 hours away, and can't place a phone order. by the time i had a friend in stone mountain drive over there, the sets i wanted were gone. i like it when lugnet members share and help one another, but not when things like (...) (...) In lugnet.dear-lego, Mike Stanley writes: (...) Sheesh. Even if you were, I still don't care. My hypothetical was about outlet stores and TLC favoring the few when they could favor a greater number of persons. And I really don't resent it. I (...)   Re: Elements I'd like to see...

Gary, I'm not interested to start my own "Customize brick compagnie" ;-) But I can tell the Lego community how I do it. Customize theses bricks is not something easy but, I'm sure if you use the right tool, and if you realy take the time to be (...) (25 years ago, 27-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Elements I'd like to see...

(...) Have you looked at the new(ish) Technic half-beams? These are basically 1xN female-female plates, except their height is 1/2 the width of a 1x1 brick. In LDraw measuring, regular plates are 8LDU tall, 1x bricks are 20LDU wide. The half beams (...) (25 years ago, 27-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Georgia LEGO Outlet is Cool!

(...) I suggest you take your complaint to the store. Even if they can't change the policy of shipping within the state, they should at least be willing to let you reserve items to pick up within a week, and therefore should be able to call you (of (...)   Re: Lego Direct (was Re: Georgia LEGO Outlet is Cool!)

(...) Richard, you still don't get it. This is in fact what S@H does, and in fact because of their pricing scheme, they make more of the person who orders 10 of set X than 10 people who order 1 each of set X. Why? Well first, the shipping cost isn't (...) (25 years ago, 27-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego) !
