  Re: Mindstorms Wishlist

(...) IIRC, almost anything commonly found in a household short of 110V~ or 220V~or 380V~ should be OK (documented is working up til 24V, IIRC, and after that it blows a replaceable fuse). Jasper (25 years ago, 28-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: Bulk Pieces suggestions

My 2-studs worth: I'm always looking for more 2x1 and 2x2 inverse sloped bricks. The $3.00 for 16 pieces is a bit steep - and only in red? I want blue, yellow, white, etc. I need 5,000 blue just for the inside of my ferry boat hull. 3x3 low sloped (...) (25 years ago, 28-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Maybe "Dear Lego" sub groups would help

(...) [crossposted to .admin.general & .dear-lego; followups to .admin.general] Here is a summary of all the group names I've seen mentioned so far in the current brainstorming session. I listed the names in categories just for temporary (...) (25 years ago, 28-Dec-99, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: Thanks for the welcome

(...) [snipped Brad's letter: part 3] (...) Yes, that would! I'm sure there would be MUCH controversy over that, though. Maybe it should be catagorized (by themes, I mean - i.e. Castle parts, Train parts, etc.). (...) I second the motion! I'll buy (...) (25 years ago, 28-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Feared misconception about the Star Wars sets.

I fear that TLC may attribute the strong sales of the Star Wars sets to Star Wars fanaticism rather than good set design. I realize that putting the "Star Wars" name on anything is going to increase sales and in fact it is what got me back into LEGO (...) (25 years ago, 28-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.starwars)

Brad - TLC needs to minimize packaging

Brad, I've gotten a few "special" sets, 1775 and 2149 in particular, that are densely packed in order to take up as little storage space as possible. It would be nice if TLC would start to package ALL of their sets this way. Almost all of the 1999 (...) (25 years ago, 28-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

(...) Well, I'm not Larry(1), but I use the web interface, so I can answer this. When you post a message, there are 4 fields you can enter data in. (...) I am in your hands Larry. I use the web interface. What should I have done? Thanks in advance, it happens that I just don't know what to do -- if not for lego I wouldn't use newsgroups at all, -- Richard (25 years ago, 28-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: The Boats line

Yeah I have input on this one... Take the tente sets from the early 80's they had all this...now make them to minifig scale in Lego design and I know all us boat, ferry, tanker, airplane carrier and oceanic research center fanatics will have hours (...)   Re: Brad: A way for almost ANY piece to be sold...

Where do I apply for this job? I have a sabbatical coming! Seriously, this is a darn good idea. (25 years ago, 28-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Brad: A way for almost ANY piece to be sold...

I have posted this in th epast, but since I don't know how long Brad & co. have been reading, I do so again... Why not hire one or two promising high school students out of good ol' Enfield High, and make them apprentices in the model department? (...) (25 years ago, 27-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: New Castle Sucks (so far...)

Richard, please learn how to cross post, if you would. You've started this thread, or a very similar one, in more than one group. It's far better to post one post to several groups. Thanks. Cross posting is easy no matter whether you are using the (...) (25 years ago, 27-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: Bulk Pieces suggestions

Another hypothetical implementation of bulk sales could have online databases showing the factory production schedules of what pieces, with deadlines for ordering so you could get pieces quickly. Also, an ordering database could allow group members (...) (25 years ago, 27-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: New Castle Sucks (so far...)

(...) <snip rant> Richard, you need to take a deep breath. If you don't like the sets, why not combine them to create some MOCs? Not many sets TLC produces are worth keeping assembled, so what's new? You have been given the tools. Use them. Until I (...) (25 years ago, 27-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  New Castle Sucks (so far...)

Fellow Lugnuts: I just had the good fortune/misfortune to receive 6095, 6094, and 6032 as Xmas gifts. I am not going to review these sets except in a cursory way. The gist of this post is to complain on behalf of new castle buyers -- that new castle (...) (25 years ago, 27-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)
