Re: Part naming/organization [was: Re: More inventories on peeron.com!]

(...) You're absolutely right. I keep planning on updating those parts. Basically, the Castle, Space, and Town categories should go away. Train will stay, because there are many train-specific pieces. Ditto for any other theme-like categories. Steve (23 years ago, 29-Jun-01, to lugnet.db.brictionary)

(...) I'll let Steve fight his own battle - but I will point out that partref uses %100 ldraw names... :) (...) Tell me about it. Our current stance on peeron is that we won't create new names for pieces that already have names via ldraw/partsref... (...) (23 years ago, 29-Jun-01, to lugnet.db.inv, lugnet.db.brictionary)

Part naming/organization [was: Re: More inventories on peeron.com!]

(...) And I must mention that, although it is in some ways convenient to be able to find pieces by theme, things get messy when themes are used in the hierarchy. For example, consider the Castle section of Partsref, and these "Castle *" parts. There (...) (23 years ago, 29-Jun-01, to lugnet.db.inv, lugnet.db.brictionary)

  Hard Plastic Wheels

Can anyone give a Castlehead a clue as to which of the (not terribly helpfully named) PartsRef parts 2593 Wheel Hard-Plastic Medium or 6118 Wheel Hard-Plastic Small is the 4 x 4 x 3 wheel which (in duplicate) is in the Mos Espa Podrace set?   Re: A (somewhat unhelpful) Suggestion

  Re: A (somewhat unhelpful) Suggestion

(...) Another suggestion ;-) The "unofficial" parts have (correctly) no link to guide.lugnet.com, but could you provide a part name, perhaps prefixed by "unofficial"? Regards, Hakan (23 years ago, 19-Apr-01, to lugnet.db.brictionary)

(...) For starters, those 1x10 (or so) bricks with wings and 1x2x5 columns with cartouches on them would be nice. (...) Great, glad you like it! For the torsos, I used a correct or common main-colour if I knew it off-hand, otherwise I guessed.
