Is there anyone who is familiar with them that might be able to confirm?

Best,

That is indeed a flesh color, you are seeing. Though I do not believe it is the
same as the minifig colors. Instead, it is an older color that originated in
either Belville or Scala lines. To my knowledge, it has never appeared in any
system sets, but there is a slim chance it was also in Fabuland.

It looks to me like the model shop is accessing all of their resources, using
old stock of this color (which was considered a 'special' color even by the
model shop). However, the quantities seen here make me think they have access to
more than just the 'on-hand' quantities they had when I worked there.

Sorta ruins the whole "everything in Miniland can be found in sets kids can buy"
line they like to push. HA!

As Aaron mentioned, the colors are actually not available.
The miniland development DK(RIP) team has always had special access to off
colors, for their special projects. And when a brick is not made in a certain
color, and only a handful are needed, it is common practice to spray paint the
elements in question.
Examples of this are seen throughout the legoland california minilands clusters,
and the other parks as well.

The Modelshops across the globe have in the past had special runs of colors and
bricks produced, examples such as the Windsor Model Shop having a silvery pearly
color used to build the large cockpit of the airplane inside the building where
the modelshop and the Art Gallery are housed.
I will upload a picture soon.

Also the modelshop in Germany, who was responsible in building the Allianz
Football Stadium in a semitranslucent milky white bricks, another example of a
color and assortment of bricks that no kid or adult lego fan can obtain for
their home creations.

Years ago, the modelshop lead designer in Connecticut had ordered a special run
of purple bricks for a purple heart logo that was commisioned, some sort of
state event. The bricks were made, and according to the story, the bricks had to
be locked away, as someone there was pocketing a few per day.

The California Shop ordered a ton of elements of many colors, for the Art of
Lego Art Gallery, and there was many left over. Including the ones seen on this
pictures.

There is a picture online somewhere floating with all the Lego colors available
or manufactured, althought this doesnt mean they are available for the public.

As many other comments on this thread imply, yes, Legoland models are IMPOSSIBLE
to build by the ordinary consumer. They are merely built to market the brand and
inspire.

I actually know that in more than one instance the modelshop had to buy pieces
of bricklink to complete certain projects. Always using some random name, or
using an employees personal bricklink account.
But that is a bad idea, people get in trouble by working at the shop and having
a bricklink account.
