  Re: Buckets on the Brain

(...) When the bucket was stamped/molded. Many companies use them. (...) It is indeed the new colors. (...) All discontinued. But still massive amounts to be found. None have been repackaged or renumbered as far as I know. Besides if they were, I (...) (20 years ago, 16-Jul-04, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.color, FTX)

Re: Dear LEGO, do you realize what is happening?

(...) I am concerned about the community too, which is why I am posting more. I saw some abysmal behaviour once before on Lugnet, but never have I seen so such abysmal behaviour from so many people. (...) I think you have hit the nail on the head. (...) (20 years ago, 16-Jul-04, to lugnet.color)

  Re: Buckets on the Brain

Make friends with someone in the store and ask them to open one for you. Show them the cash and tell them there's a 50% chance of making a big sale. (20 years ago, 16-Jul-04, to lugnet.color, FTX)

  Buckets on the Brain

If this issue has already been addressed, then please forgive me. I've searched the Lugnet set database but could not find the answer to my question. I realize that this issue could EASILY be addressed by simply buying one of the sets in question, (...) (20 years ago, 16-Jul-04, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.color, lugnet.general, FTX)

  Troll (was Re: Fed UP!!!!!!!!

Although probably not meant that way, posts like Randall's original one function as a troll. Over time the complaints about the color change will naturally fade to the background, *not* because the (URL) problems> have gone away, but because there (...)   Re: The first Lego color change of 1962-70

Great post Garry, but I wanted to remind everyone to keep the color discussion in lugnet.color. FUT: lugnet.color Thanks Frank Filz (20 years ago, 16-Jul-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.color)

  Re: Fed UP!!!!!!!!

(...) Hi Terry, I'm still upset about it too. (...) Randall is probably as upset about hearing complaints from people like us as we are about the color change. The best thing we can do to honor requests from Randall and others is to talk about it in (...) (20 years ago, 16-Jul-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.color) !

Re: The first Lego color change of 1962-70

(...) The color change you speak of took place before I was born. The only way it has affected me is in the collections of old pieces that I have bought from ebay. Despite the downside of that era's color change, I would have to say that it was for (...) (20 years ago, 16-Jul-04, to lugnet.color)

  Re: Fed UP!!!!!!!!

(...) SHHHHH. Keep it down. Next thing you know people will start complaining that Lego does not read the message boards. Steven Weiser (20 years ago, 16-Jul-04, to lugnet.color, FTX)

  Re: Fed UP!!!!!!!!

(...) Given the size of your collection, budget and home, I'm just completely in awe of that. Blows me totally away, proportionally. But then, you're not someone that complains a lot, you just soldier on, having fun and doing what you believe in so (...) (20 years ago, 16-Jul-04, to lugnet.color)

  Re: Fed UP!!!!!!!!

(...) I have purchased as much as I could when I could. 40 bags each of the grays. I will keep buying as I can afford to until they are gone. Steven Weiser (20 years ago, 16-Jul-04, to lugnet.color)

  Re: Fed UP!!!!!!!!

(...) Good question. I did *MY* bit. My calculations show me that I bought better than .5% of the total production run. That's right... Half a percent of the whole run! I can't really afford it but I wanted that run to be successful. To send a (...) (20 years ago, 16-Jul-04, to lugnet.color)

  Re: Fed UP!!!!!!!!

(...) How about building? I just got around to opening my Maersk last night. It looks fantastic. I'm putting the finishing touches on a moc that contains both old and new gray. I'm plotting which of my existing mocs will work better with the new (...) (20 years ago, 16-Jul-04, to lugnet.color) !

  Re: Fed UP!!!!!!!!

(...) The problem is not having debates on LUGNET. The problem is having the same debate, over and over, with the same people saying the same things, and the same conclusions. At the very least, these debates should be contained to the appropriate (...) (20 years ago, 16-Jul-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.color)

(...) Well observed indeed Alfredo! Did anyone else noticed that?? As for Kelly's post, I didn't get it a bit. Was it really an answer to Marc's? For example, see this lines: Marc wrote: (...)   The first Lego color change of 1962-70

Well I see that the color change of 2004 has generated some strong emotions... The first color change (of modern Lego starting in 1957) was that of 1962-70. TLG replaced Cellulose Acetate with ABS Plastic, and in doing so the colors red, yellow and (...) (20 years ago, 15-Jul-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.color)
