Re: IOM: Sorjin's CBN Special Report

Instead of expensive diffuser filters try using something you have like shiny baking pans, or aluminum foil smoothed out over a flat surface, like a book. Then bounce the swing arm lamp light off of those. It will certainly cut the glare, and (...) (23 years ago, 27-Nov-01, to lugnet.castle.org.cw)

Re: Lord Bertar and the Isle of Mist

Hey Shiri, (...) I remember your compliments on my initial posting way back when the IOM saga began ((URL) I was wondering if anyone would remember that, since it's been so long since I've added anything to Bertar's story. As for Galith, I can't get (...) (23 years ago, 27-Nov-01, to lugnet.castle.org.cw)

Re: IOM: Sorjin's CBN Special Report

You could always buy some diffuser screens from your local photography shop to cut the glare off those swingarm lamps. Don't know how expensive that would be, though. Adrian -- www.brickfrenzy.com (...) (23 years ago, 27-Nov-01, to lugnet.castle.org.cw)

Re: IOM: Sorjin's CBN Special Report

(...) Yes, perhaps if I got something bright enough then I could point it across the room to get more indirect lighting. As it is, either of the two swingarms will glare really badly if I point them where I really need the light. That's why I still (...) (23 years ago, 27-Nov-01, to lugnet.castle.org.cw)

Re: IOM: Sorjin's CBN Special Report

i think the thing you really need is more light.. i'd shoot for 100-watt or brighter (and the equivalent in fluorescent). this is why professional photoers spend thousands on complicated expensive strobe lights and such, in an effort to match the (...)   Re: Lord Bertar and the Isle of Mist

Pawel, Thanks for the compliments! I had wondered about whether the text size was adequate, with the proper balance between readability and page compactness. I will probably increase the font to make it easier to read. I guess I thought it was okay (...) (23 years ago, 27-Nov-01, to lugnet.castle.org.cw)

Re: Lord Bertar and the Isle of Mist

Hey Stephen, Welcome aboard! I read your prologue, when it was posted, with great interest. It's good to see you develop your characters and setting further. I'm also wondering what Galith looks like... I agree with Pawel on the layout - it's very (...) (23 years ago, 27-Nov-01, to lugnet.castle.org.cw)

Re: Lord Bertar and the Isle of Mist

(...) I like both the format of the page, and the stories on there so far. One little quib that I have is the font size - I feel old saying this (what did you say sonny?), but could you make the fontsize bigger? My eyes will thank you :) Good intro (...)   Re: Vincent arrives on the IOM.

(...) I like the little update - one sees what's going on and it seems like it's not that hard to put together :) I really liked the larger pictures that you used for dramatic emphasis. I also enjoyed your mist effects - they are done very (...) (23 years ago, 27-Nov-01, to lugnet.castle.org.cw)

Re: Vincent arrives on the IOM.

(...) Okay, it should work now. That story just put me over the top of my space limit on my site. So I'll work on my site tonight, linking pics to ones on my Brickshelf account and such. Thanks for the heads-up! Wilson (URL) (23 years ago, 27-Nov-01, to lugnet.castle.org.cw)
