Re: New MOC: Motorized Viking Longship

(...) Actually, the brown was basically every single brown brick, plate, and widget in my collection. You may notice that there are some brown log bricks (from Wild West) in the bow and stern arches, as I started running out of regular bricks. Of (...)   Re: New MOC: Motorized Viking Longship

(...) Indeed. Shiri can be very persuasive :) Besides, I needed an entry in another category for the MOC contest for next Brickfest *hehe* Thanks for the compliments. It's nice to be able to incorporate technic, sculpture, and ninja all into one (...) (23 years ago, 4-Aug-01, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.castle.ninja)

Re: New MOC: Motorized Viking Longship

(...) Unfortunately I couldn't fit the rolling in. I was running dangerously low on brown bricks and couldn't extend the chassis any longer to squeeze that mechanism in. The gearbox that makes the cams work took up a lot more space than i had hoped. (...) (23 years ago, 4-Aug-01, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.castle.ninja)

Re: New MOC: Motorized Viking Longship

SAWEET! That is incredible! Totally awesome! The rowing mechanism is incredible! Lots of design and function inovation, I like that. Beautifully crafted vessel IMO. That is a masterpiece, very good work. The head piece is very detailed and it looks (...) (23 years ago, 4-Aug-01, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.castle.ninja)

RE: New MOC: Motorized Viking Longship

(...) I remember you talking about building this on the way home from Brickfest. Great job! I want to see this one in action...soon. Did you add wheels underneath so that it rolls while they row? Nice use of widgets on the figurehead, even though I (...) (23 years ago, 4-Aug-01, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.castle.ninja)

Re: New MOC: Motorized Viking Longship

(...) Mwah ha ha, all that time spent in the castle room is taking effect, eh? :-) Nice design; I love that figurehead (or whatever the term for it is). Also cool overall design; awesome curves on the stern. And the rowing mechanism/idea is pretty (...) (23 years ago, 4-Aug-01, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.castle.ninja)

  New MOC: Motorized Viking Longship

Here's my latest creation, a Viking Longship with a mechanism that's used to make the oars row. It's also manned by ninja figs. Congratulations to the castleheads, another mostly spacehead has made the transition, at least temporarily :) Check it (...)   Neato non-LEGO Ninja site

(URL) is a pretty neato Ninja site I stumbled across tonight. It covers everything from the actual history and fighting techniques to info regarding all those crazy 80's Ninja movies. There are even a few pics of the LEGO Ninja guys for fun. Enjoy. (...) (23 years ago, 29-Jul-01, to lugnet.castle.ninja)

  Re: Ninja Dojo

(...) One possible solution for a door, forget the tile and just use the 1x4 plate top and bottom to guide the door. If you just want a wall, I just had an idea. Make a paper or cardboard frame with four tabs. Picture a square with four tabs at each (...) (23 years ago, 26-Jul-01, to lugnet.castle.ninja)

  Re: Ninja Dojo

(...) This is a very interesting idea Joel. I'm so bent on using everything Lego I didn't even think about using paper. But I think this might do the trick! I might try this idea except use something like parchment instead of cardboard and make a (...) (23 years ago, 26-Jul-01, to lugnet.castle.ninja)

  Re: Ninja Dojo

(...) I was thinking about sliding doors the other day myself. I would like to build Japanese style houses to go with my castles in the future. My idea is to use stiff construction paper or card stock, cut it to door size and then at the top and (...) (23 years ago, 26-Jul-01, to lugnet.castle.ninja)

  Re: Ninja Dojo

(...) Good job on the dojo. The backdrop kinda gives it a mountainous background look too. I understand what you say about sliding doors. I am on my third castle and still have not found a elegant, compact way to represent working sliding doors for (...) (23 years ago, 25-Jul-01, to lugnet.castle.ninja)

  Ninja Dojo

Here are some pictures of a Dojo I built a few months ago. It's missing a roof cause I needed the plates for something else but use your imagination.
