Re: Why aren't we going crazy?!? (Now go CRAZY!!!) —Richard Noeckel
Now go C R A Z Y !!! Thanx for confirmin’ this for us Jimmy…you were right, this ‘IS’ b i g . (...) What do you mean by ‘technically,’ are you aware of other specific sets that are gonna be reintroduced. Possible the ~North American versions.~ (I (...)         Re: Why aren't we going crazy?!? (Now go CRAZY!!!) —Richard Marchetti
(...) I have noticed this assertion being made from time to time and it all ways mystifies me -- why is the classic style helmet perceived to be so weak? I must have two or three dozens of these helmets and none show any damage or splitting (...) (23 years ago, 22-May-01, to lugnet.general)

Re: Why aren't we going crazy?!? (Now go CRAZY!!!) —Larry Pieniazek
(...) Wow, I think you are very lucky. Well over 1/2 of the used ones I have managed to accumulate have broken/split chinguards. The newer ones don't seem to suffer that fate although it is true that they ARE newer, so have had less time to have (...) (23 years ago, 22-May-01, to lugnet.general)

Yellow Castle Style Helmets (was Re: Why aren't we going crazy?!?) —Richard Marchetti
(...) Okay, just to be sure -- I am talking about the type of helmets used in classic space. Are these the same as are used in the yellow castle -- I mean, obviously without the the visors, but is the underlying helmet the same? I have quite a few (...)       (...) Yes, and yes. (...) I'll defer to others but I think you're lucky. Or I'm unlucky, in this regard anyway. ++Lar (23 years ago, 22-May-01, to lugnet.general)

Re: Yellow Castle Style Helmets (was Re: Why aren't we going crazy?!?) —Brian Kasprzyk
(...) I have to agree with Lar on this one. Though most of my classic helmets are not split, several are. Under lots of use, ie, taking the helmet off 40 times a week (this is not unrealistic. I have 2 boys and for some reason, they have more fun (...) (23 years ago, 22-May-01, to lugnet.general)

Re: Yellow Castle Style Helmets (was Re: Why aren't we going crazy?!?) —Greg Howell
(...) Also remember that in about 1984? they reinforced that classic helmet with a thicker chin strap. I have a few of each, and the thicker ones are much stronger. GREG~ (23 years ago, 22-May-01, to lugnet.general)

Re: Yellow Castle Style Helmets (was Re: Why aren't we going crazy?!?) —Kyle D. Jackson
(...) Wow, I'd never noticed that. You're right, the helmet styles changed in the early 80's to have a thicker chin guard. But even still most of my early helmets are not cracked in the chin area, and I really played with those sets heavily. I have (...) (23 years ago, 23-May-01, to lugnet.general)

Re: Yellow Castle Style Helmets (was Re: Why aren't we going crazy?!?) —Jeff Thompson
(...) Yes. (...) That's surprising. You took good care of your toys. :^) Some of the classic helmets have thicker reinforced chins - I think they modified the design of the element around 1983 or 1984. LEGO wouldn't have bothered doing that if they (...) (23 years ago, 23-May-01, to lugnet.general)

Re: Why aren't we going crazy?!? (Now go CRAZY!!!) —Jimmy Park
(...) Well, at least somebody believed me! :) (...) As Brad implied, the July surprise is still yet to come! I myself am giddly with anticipation. (...) Knight's procession is still doable. There's not the problem of old molds or replaced parts (...) (23 years ago, 22-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Why aren't we going crazy?!? (Now go CRAZY!!!) —Sheree Rosenkrantz
(...) So, will it be revealed before Brickfest or might Mr. Justus as a represenative of Lego be waiting to reveal this surprise at Brickfest. sheree (...) (23 years ago, 22-May-01, to lugnet.castle)
