6. Which Castle subtheme has the best figs?

Just out of curiousity, I noticed that a couple of people felt that the
Fright Knights was the best subtheme.  Now, personally, I *hated* the Fright
Knights.  They almost singlehandly put me in my Lego Dark Ages while they
were out (with Ninja bringing me back into the fold).  I basically disliked
them because they were the most cartoonish Castle subtheme Lego ever put
out.  Although it was really cool getting black dragons for cheap, I didn't
much care for the witches, bat helms, shield logos, etc.
So I'm wondering - what about Fright Knights did you like?

(This message is not a flame in any way - just curious to see what other
people saw in it.  Perhaps it would make me better appreciate the Fright
Knights that I own.)

Thanks,

Jimmy

I won't say that I thought it was the best, but it wasn't .bad.

Lots of 2x2x?? black columns, the arches as others have said, the crystal
ball, black dragons (as you said), I even like the large green plates to a
degree - though actual base plates would have been preferred. The dark grey
walls were great as were the 1x2x2 arched windows. The only other place I'd
gotten any before that were in Pirates. They used a few in Wild West, and in
the Shell Ferrari, but there just aren't many places I've seen with them
otherwise. maybe I'm just blind. :)

As for the figs - I REALLY liked Willa's dress/torso - there just aren't
enough unique female torsos to ignore that one. More, now, but at that point
it was really nice. I only have one, presently, so I need to go hit up
Kay-Bee and see if they're still on clearance. :)

I also like the Fleur de-Leis (sp?) torsos as others have said. The "golf
ball" armor and the plate armor torsos weren't really favorites but they
were tolerable. I've seen worse. The batlord torso.. eh... I rate it above
the other two, myself, but that's not saying much. I'd have gone broke if
there were a set with more than 2 of the Fleur de-Leis torsos. I could use a
dozen or more of those and not just the two I have now.

I kind of like the shields. The Helms would be better (to me) w/o the bat
wings, but I like the capes and the bat figs, too. I love any of the
"aminals" LEGO supplies and am happy that I have most of them, less the
crabs and such from the Bellville sets.

Anyway, I don't hesitate to pick them up - they're decent parts packs if
nothing else, as others have mentioned - especially on clearance.
