Re: New Castle LEGOs —Stephen Bishop
But when I ordered they didn't have 4819 yet. Last I heard it won't be in until next year. Steve (...) (24 years ago, 11-Nov-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: New Castle LEGOs —Aaron West
(...) True! As of today S@H had all but 4819, the computers showed none in stock with no description further as to when or where. Rumors abound of KB having them in stock, but unless you work there or have a connection, it is a needle in a KB (...) (24 years ago, 11-Nov-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: New Castle LEGOs —Jared Stewart
There has been at least one occasion in the past where no new castle sets were issued in a year. I know for a fact that it happened in 1991-- exactly 10 years ago. (btw, 1476 does not count as a castle set). And while I too am disappointed and can't (...) (24 years ago, 11-Nov-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: New Castle LEGOs —Shiri Dori
(...) Yeah, IIRC TLC has issued press-releases about this. (...) I can definitely see more and more people being drawn to clone companies. TLC is not listening to us, and if the clone companies are (and I've heard rumors) it won't be long 'til many (...) (24 years ago, 11-Nov-00, to lugnet.castle)

Best-Lock compatibility (was Re: New Castle LEGOs) —John Radtke
In lugnet.castle, Jared Stewart writes: <snip> (...) I wouldn't quite count Best-Lock as 100% compatible. The only sets I've seen were in the military series but it appeared the bricks and plates are both a different height than LEGO bricks and (...)          Re: New Castle LEGOs —Paul Maxwell
As far as I know, Best-Lock Castles are not sold in the US... So that won't help any of us that might be interested. Paul (...) (24 years ago, 13-Nov-00, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: New Castle LEGOs —Jared Stewart
Actually, you can buy a fairly good selection of BESTLOC castle sets from www.GetTheToys.com, which ONLY ships to North American addresses. Great prices too. (...) (24 years ago, 13-Nov-00, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: New Castle LEGOs —Alan Findlay
Has anyone bought stuff from GetTheToys.com? I went to the website, and it isn't very professional -- based on the grammar and syntax, English is not their first language. It raises doubts in my mind if they are targeting the North American market. (...) (24 years ago, 14-Nov-00, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: New Castle LEGOs —Jared Stewart
I'm optimistic about GetTheToys, but I think that its mainly because I just want their site to work so badly (I'm saving up for a big purchase). However, despite all my plugging for Bestlock, I have never actually ordered from GetTheToys, and I too (...) (24 years ago, 15-Nov-00, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: New Castle LEGOs —Brian Kasprzyk
(...) I have some Best-Lock army sets and was not very happy with them. They have some nice pieces and look great, but they don't stay together. The tooling on the bricks are not as precise as Lego bricks, so they don't go together and stay (...) (24 years ago, 15-Nov-00, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: New Castle LEGOs —Jeff Johnston
(...) Based on my experiences, you need to go to the Toy Works or Toy Liquidators, not to the regular KB stores. I have a couple of extra 4819 (that's the one with the shield, right? - one in sealed box, one in opened box but unopened polybags) (...) (24 years ago, 13-Nov-00, to lugnet.castle)
