My first Castle MOC - web page

Ok, my big huge castle in progress now has a web page: (URL) isn't any new progress on the actual castle since August though. (24 years ago, 29-Sep-00, to lugnet.announce, lugnet.castle, lugnet.build, lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.castle.org.cw) !

(...) You slacker! Why don't you have more done? ... and don't give me this "I have a life" excuse. I'm not buying it ;) All this aside - the castle is very cool and detailed.   To open, or not to open. That is the question.

Hi everyone, It's been a while (about 8 months) since I've been on LUGNET -- I had to take a break from LEGO as real life took over. Now I'm easing back into it gently, trying not to spend every dime on new bricks. :) I'm sure this has been (...) (24 years ago, 29-Sep-00, to lugnet.castle)

  Source for brown 1xn plates?

I'm interested in making some half-timbered houses for my village. What currently available sets have the best distribution of brown 1xn plates? I'm having a really hard time finding any... Thanks, Chris (24 years ago, 29-Sep-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Source for brown 1xn plates?

I went through this. Search for Brown 1x in news. Think Star Wars. Think Droid Fighter. If you can still find that in stores. Many other Star Wars sets used basic brown parts: Naboo Swamp, Lightsaber Duel, Desert Skiff (I use the brown railings as (...) (24 years ago, 29-Sep-00, to lugnet.castle)

  Nationalities of Themes

As the title says, I am trying to figure out what country the themes come from: Crusaders, Royal Knights, Forestmen- English Black Knights, Dragon Masters- German Black Falcons- French Fright Knights- Transylvania? Speak up if you have better ideas. (...) (24 years ago, 29-Sep-00, to lugnet.castle)

(...) Did you buy them to resell or to play with? If you bought them to resell, don't open them. If you bought them to play with, do it. It's all a matter of why you did it ... My $.02 -- Pawel (24 years ago, 29-Sep-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: To open, or not to open. That is the question.

(...) If you bought them on eBay, it wasn't for resale. So RIP THE BOX OPEN! Now! Shred it except for the back panel with alternative models. Chew on the pieces a bit until you calm down. Now, build like crazy in a frenzied paroxysm of delight. You (...) (24 years ago, 29-Sep-00, to lugnet.castle)

(...) Open them, Open them. the minifigs inside are going to sofocate (spelling?) Let them out, they are lonely and want you to attach their legs so they can be complete minifigs. BTW are there any set that you wouldn't open (ie the guarded inn (...) (24 years ago, 29-Sep-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: To open, or not to open. That is the question.

That's good advice. I find I use eBay as a buyer to get sets I really want but can't get anywhere else or anywhere else cheaper. I use eBay as a seller to sell only sets I really don't want. If I really don't want a MISB set, it's never because I (...) (24 years ago, 29-Sep-00, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Mongols + Arabian Knights?

(...) Wicked cool. The use of tires as headgear is simply brilliant. I'm also glad to see somebody realizing the full potential of the Star Wars capes.
