Hiya,
a bit late on, but i've found that i seem to like listening to the
Corrs, seems to get the brain into a more of a emotional state of
mind, but nothing seems to kick in than Yoko Kanno on the Macross Plus
Soundtracks. The Japanese is an amazing kick for the brain, and the
symphonic orchestral pieces are amazing.

Speaking of Yoko Kanno, she held a miniconcert at last year's Otakon.  @anime
recorded and digitized the four piano pieces she played.  You can download them
in MP3 format here:  http://www.atanime.com/v1/i1/03_otakon_special.html

She played the opening from Vision of Escaflowne, Voices from Macross Plus, the
opening from Record of Lodoss War TV (Kiseki no Umi, or Sea of Miracles), and
an encore Jazz improv.  :)

I truly enjoyed that concert.  Especially since I was sitting as close to the
front as I could (fourth row).  ;)

Jeff
